A Marvelous New Start - Continued from here
@twinsoftheancients
Who would have thought her first visit to the famed âAvengers Towerâ would be like this? Andi was under close supervision by Flash, and on top of that, her two friends, Devola and Popola, were being carried in on stretchers, or something similar, they were basically floating tables that Mr. Stark controlled.
Sheâd gone over the entire thing with Flash again and again, she had been in Philadelphia, fighting crime like normal, until she fell through a portal, thinking it was a trick by Mephisto. She wound up in another world, another Earth, several thousands of years in the future, a bleak world where androids were battling against machines while humanity was in hiding on the moon. The two sheâd brought back with her, the twin androids, were her friends, and they had been severely injured, maybe dead...
symbioteburnout
Andi was close to rushing the reawakened Popola as well, only to stop dead in her tracks when Popola let out that horrible scream. It made Andiâs mind flash back to the moment she had dug the twins out of the ruins of the tower, the sight of the âdeadâ sisters. She could only imagine this was the scream Popola made when she âdiedâ helping 9S. It was definitely enough to shock Andi and render her still.
At her question, Tony quirked a brow, looking at Popola curiously, then to Andi and Devola apologetically. He said nothing, but Andi could tell he was trying to say âI did all that I could, it was a long shotâ. âJARVIS, run a diagnostic on Popola for me?â He called up to the invisible AI, as a few screens appeared and hovered around Popola.
âI detect no electrical anomalies, perhaps Ms. Popola is merely feeling the after-effects of the injury that rendered her unconscious?â The calm voice reminiscent of an English butler spoke through the roomâs PA system. âAll systems normal. Iâve already notified Mr. Thompson to retrieve another set of clothes for Popola. He is currently being teased by Ms. Romanoff outside of the supply room for looking through womenâs garments.â
Andi soon began to move towards the bed, towards the sisters. It was clear that Tonyâs repairs on Popolaâs memory core hadnât been perfect, but it would be wrong to state that outright, maybe Popola didnât remember dying, and maybe that was for the best. She thought her legs would give out from under her, she choked back a sob as she looked at the reawakened Android. ââŚPopolaâŚâ She sobbed, she couldnât hold back the tears, they were alive, they were both alive, and alright.
Andi rushed over and embraced both of the twins.
â Â Â Â âInjury...? Clothes? Wait, am I- !!â Unlike her sister, Popola quickly found herself flustered at the sight of her bare, artificial skin, finding her face to flush a bright red. Thankfully, she was beginning to regain control of her motor functions as her arms, albeit stiffly, did what they could in an attempt to cover herself. It was a futile attempt as there wasnât anything necessary to hide, but perhaps it was an instinct in her programming to do so. Glancing up at her sister, she couldnât help but raise a brow in confusion.
â Â Â Â â...What's with the outfit?â
âż Â Â Â âOh, you know, figured this looked better on me than my birthday suit~.â She couldnât help but tease her a bit, cracking an all too familiar smile, the same one that would always calm Popola down back in the Resistance Camp. In this instance however, that only seemed to fluster the straight-haired android further as she turned to hide her reddened face with a low huff. It appeared the two had become distracted, only remembering they werenât alone in the room once Andi spoke up. Glancing past her sister, Popolaâs eyes widened.
â Â Â Â âGood lord, youâre here too! Fate has never been so kind...â A soft smile made its way to her features as the two gladly took Andi into a snug hug. Popola wasnât sure as to what happened, but for the time being that didnât matter, she was just happy to see the other two even in such a strange room. She could tell that Andi was still tearing up, to which she carefully took her left hand and wiped one from the otherâs cheek.
â Â Â Â âHey, are you alright? Thereâs no need for tears now, Iâm sure everything will be okay...â Truly, she had no idea if that was correct, as even now she found herself concerned by their surroundings, including Tony. Nothing here was familiar except for her sister and Andi.
What is this ugly thing tumblr is doing at the top of my reblogged posts and how the hell do I fix it? Ew... I donât need to see the first post of the reblog, if I need to reread it I can just go back to it on my own.
There was many places this device had sent Obi, few seemed asâŚbarren as this. His senses went far, but, he sensed mostly devastation. Where ever he was nearly devoid of life. But, the recall function had been enacted, however as Obi checked it, nothing came back from it. âThatâs badâŚ.â Obi smacked it a few times his go to strategy to fix it failing he sighed. âFuckâŚ. Focus ObiâŚJustâŚ.Focus.â He sensed out as far as he could and foundâŚsomething with real structure⌠His optimism building as he checked his water, having enough for a while.
He started on his way, but then the heat started to drench in him. He would lay low as he heard anything, only feeling vibrations in the earth to sense them, this world had a surprisingly lack of water within it. His greatest asset was rather nullified here, but he managed to evade anything that seemed unsavory but, the heat wafted so often. He felt sweat drench his hair, his blindfold, clothes, a mess. Taking off his hoodie in the process, with nothing underneath, he continued to bake. Taking very conservative drinks from his Canteen, just enough to keep going.
Hours passed as his reserves were dwindling, the make shift village was getting closer. âCâmon ObiâŚAlmost thereâŚjust.. focus on something find something about this place worth telling. Make it worth the trip.â He was slow, as he inched and inched but he could see the real heights of the building, as his steps were faltering, at what looked like the main entrance he collapsed down. âIâŚmade itâŚIâŚâ his hand gripped at the loose dirt below, as his senses went dark.

âWhoa whoa whoa whoa, flag on the play. You guys areâŚyou guys, but you can still consume alcohol?â He blinked in confusion, before a long breath came from him. âYa know, never mind, you were made by humans, that 100 percent holds up.â He said, without accepting any alternative from them, âBut yes, it is time that we head on out.âÂ
âMy Concern isnât to assume that you guys are fragile for what its worth.â Obi stated as he headed on down the stairs with his hands behind his head in a relaxed position. âIâm simply trying to be caring about this. Itâs gonna be a very different experience for the two of you.â Getting to his down stairs down he let out a long sigh.Â
âListen, When we get to the library I do have to explain something to the two of you before anything goes to far, and Itâs not exactly easy to explain.â He admitted as he put his hand on the doorknob. âJustâŚPeople might know your names on the street, but they donât really know you okay?â He spoke, somewhat desperately for them to just go along with it.Â
Opening the door Devola and Popola were blasted with the morning sun as they headed their way out. This trip being one Obi has made several times he knew the way. âJust stick close alright? Itâs easy to get lost in the city.â He mentioned as he started on their way to the Library.Â
â Â Â Â âYes. We can do just about anything humans can, from my understanding of how weâre built. Thereâs just certain foods we canât consume, and it doesnât serve a purpose to. I donât really like to partake of it, though...â For reasons sheâd rather not have to explain, or more so couldnât herself. Devola could explain, but she knew of Popolaâs discomfort on the topic and chose to keep her mouth shut.
âż Â Â Â âWell yeah, of course it is. From what we were able to see on our way here, this place is teeming with organic life, and not just flora. Actually... we saw very little plants here, which is a bit concerning if I may say so.â Coming from a world where the wildlife was taking back cities, it was strange to be standing in one that wasnât a pile of ruins. Raising a brow at him, Devola passed Obi a confused âHuh?â as he spoke of people knowing their names.
âż Â Â Â âWait, wait... how? What? Weâve only talked to you and that other woman, thereâs no way someone would know our names, not unless they overheard you two speaking.â It was a good idea to tell them, so neither would react strongly to having someone approach out of nowhere and call to them, but knowing this information also made the twins a bit more wary. Once out the door, they were glancing around, both taking in the new scenery and keeping a tiny eye out for what Obi may have been talking about.
â Â Â Â âYou donât have to worry too much about us getting lost, if we can help it we donât plan to stray. In a place this big, it wouldnât surprise me if it was difficult to lose your way.â And just like she said, the twins kept close to him, theyâd rather not attract more attention than they have to.
symbioteburnout
âEither way, Iâm gonna find a way to fix that leg so you two can dance again.â She smirked, though deep down, Andi was sure it was a promise she couldnât deliver on, even if they did somehow get the parts they needed to properly fix Devolaâs leg, Andi had no mechanical expertise.
She barely finished High School, and even then her skills were sketching, some small musical talent, and handling a cash register. If she and Popola were to open up Devolaâs leg and start tooling around with it, theyâd probably leave it worse off than it was before. It was an empty promise, but, part of Andi really did want to fix Devolaâs leg so sheâd be able to dance with her sister once more, for reasons beyond just Andi wanted to see them dance.
Hobbling along with the wavy haired android on her shoulder, they managed to make their way into the alley and into the camp, looks like most of the resistance was away, except for the usual suspects, the two merchants, the medic, and the woman who seemed to be the one in charge. They did seem to notice Andi, but then seemed to outright ignore her when they saw her carrying Devola. She already knew the story, having heard it from Devola and Popola, even so, witnessing that disdain yet again, made Andiâs blood boilâŚ
âSo your place is in the back?â She asked, double checking, probably best to let Devola lie down for a bit, at least she had a bed to lie in⌠right?
â    âThatâs really kind of you, weâve been trying to ourselves but itâs just not easy in a world like this. Even if it doesnât work out, the offer is more than appreciated.â Unfortunately, it seemed like both were losing the hope that Devolaâs leg could be fully fixed, but that didnât mean they would stop trying. No, after all these two have been through, they never stop. They canât, this world doesnât want them here but theyâll be damned if they go down without a fight. Once inside the camp, Devola pointed toward the back entrance by Anemone, theyâd have to walk by her. Thankfully, it seemed like the Resistance leader wasnât paying them any mind.
âżÂ    âWell, not... particularly, no. We donât really have a place here in the camp for ourselves, we just sit wherever is unoccupied and by whoever is willing to tolerate us. Funny enough, it seems the merchant with the bum leg seems to tolerate us the most, he hasnât had any issues with us sitting beside his workspace.â Enough that they were even given the two benches to sit upon during the quiet hours. It was a cozy enough spot, but for their current situation it was best to keep Devola out of sight from most. Popola didnât want anyone taking advantage of her injury.
â    âJust a bit more, itâs not pretty back here but itâs out of the sun.â Sad to say, the place certainly didnât look like Andi may have expected. It was mostly old shipping containers, boxes, and a small area with a tarp strung over it. Thatâs where Popola was guiding them. It did have a bench there, though singular and certainly not very big. If anything, itâd at least get Devola off of her feet.Â

Prepare to receive a hug in return from all three! It has been a while, too long probably, but I hope all is well.
Jazz hands Ok so I know Iâve been gone for a while, kinda got sucked into drawing and VRChat to be completely honest with you guys, and I apologize for that. However, Iâve had a fair fill of both and feel it would be a good time to attempt returning to this blog. I still have a few threads drafted and I do intend to continue them, it just may take me a bit to get back into the swing of writing. With that said, hereâs hoping!
symbioteburnout
It was a much different world outside of this building than the one that the twins were used to. A world bustling and full of life, humans, machines, mutants, aliens, inhumans, beings from all walks of life. It was a world full of adventures, and dangers, dangers Andi knew all too well. She hoped that Devola, and hopefully Popola, would be able to adjust to living in this brand new world. There was a lot theyâd have to learn, and adjust to, because it seemed that there was honestly no way back to that other world, not that Andi would want to send her friends back to that HellâŚ
Though Devola showed some hesitance so as not to accidentally rip Andiâs arm off, Andi herself was already darting towards the door to the stairs, honestly, she would have just dove through the window herself, the symbiote would have shielded her and broken her fall. She pushed the door open, rushing down the steps with Devola by her side. Her stomach was doing somersaults, her heart was beating so fast she thought it might burst out of her, she was shaking with both anticipation and anxiety. Popola was repaired, no doubt about that, but if she woke up, would it still be Popola?
Popola was still dormant on the bed in the middle of the lab, a white sheet draped over most of her body, with only her head and shoulders exposed. From anyoneâs perspective, it looked like she was sleeping. In a way, though Andi knew otherwise, she hoped Popola was having a good dream. âIâve done what I can, ran a bunch of diagnostics and repair protocols. Weâre ready to bring her back online and see what happens. I figure having some familiar faces might make things less⌠crazy.â Tony shrugged, implying heâd done work like this before on other artificial life forms, how more often than not, things tended to explode.
âAnd⌠here we go.â The Avenger said before dialing a button on one of the holographic consoles, beginning Popolaâs activation.
âżÂ   Already, she could feel the equivalent of anxiety running through her system, and the sight of her sister up close didnât change this fact in the slightest. Still lying there, like she was sleeping, all Devola could do was hope. As the buttons were pressed, she watched, eyeing the otherâs body for any signs of movement. âCome on...â she whispered. As if on queue, the other androidâs eyes opened, drawing a startled gasp from Devola. Popola didnât move at first, simply lying there, much like it seemed she had before as it took time for her systems to boot up.
â    â!!â When life did appear to spring through her, she screamed. An all too familiar scream, one Devola would recognize as the sound her sister made when she shocked herself to open the tower. Panic ran through the wavy haired android, was her sister still hurt? Was it just a memory gone wrong? With no hesitance she was next to the table, sitting Popola up and embracing her in a tight hug. Thankfully, it seemed this act calmed her, silence returning to the room as her echoes finally dispersed, leaving her panting as she glanced around the room frantically.
âżÂ    âShh... itâs okay. Youâre okay.â
â    âDevola... what is...? I canât...â She couldnât hug her back, a wave of disappointment flowing through both of them at this realization. Still, Devola didnât let go, feeling tears begin to stream down her face. If any of her memory was beyond repair, at the very least Popola still remembered who she was.
âżÂ    âI know, I know. Itâs alright, itâll pass. Weâre not alone here, either. We have friends.â Ensuring one arm stay around her sister so she wouldnât fall backwards, Devola gestured to the other people in the room, and then to Andi.
â    âBut.... did they really have to shock me to wake me up? That was very uncomfortable....â Well, thatâs a bit worrisome.

She had to admit, Devola did look strange in track pants and a t-shirt branded with the familiar âAâ of the Avengers. It would have to do for now, but still, she was so used to seeing the twins in their regular clothes. Still, better than having a naked android running around the place. Andi paused in thought, listening to every one of Devolaâs words, hearing her stopping and trying to correct her words. She knew Popolaâs memory being beyond repair was a very real, and scary, possibility. Corny as it sounded though, they had to believe, believe that Tony would be able to fix the damage to Popola, bring her back.
âWhen weâre done here, weâll go back to my place, Iâve got clothes there you and Popola can borrow, I mean⌠weâre close to the same size, I think.â She scratched her head, it wasnât like Andi had taken the time to figure out the twinsâ body measurements.
âAfter thatâŚâ She squeezed Devolaâs hand, looking down into the lab, Tony had just shut down the display on the monitor and was going back to Popolaâs stretch, more holographic projections hanging over her body that Tony began interacting with. âIâm taking you two shopping, I mean, I donât know how much money I have, and I bet my boss is pissed I missed so many days of work, but Iâll get you two some clothes.â
Come to think of it, if Devola and Popola were to stay in this world, theyâd likely need a job tooâŚ
Tony moved the holographic displays away, looking up at the observation deck, he began waving at Devola and Andi.
âMr. Stark would like to inform you that heâs completed work on Ms. Popolaâs memory core.â JARVISâ voice droned over the speakers. âHe is inviting you two back down to the lab.â
âżÂ    âIf worse comes to worst, these clothes arenât bad, just not very stylish. Iâm trying not to be picky about it, Popola never liked when I did that. Be grateful for what you receive, yeah?â Even while her sister wasnât here, Devola still felt it was necessary to respect her wishes. She felt bad when Andi mentioned buying them clothes, they hadnât earned them, not to mention it felt a little strange for someone to want to get them things. This world and the people within it will take a lot of getting used to.
âżÂ    âTo be fair, itâs not like you had a choice to come to our world, right? If it helps, Iâm sure thereâs something Popola and I can do to make some currency. Which, now that I think about it... what do you use here for that purpose?â She had doubts they used machine parts to pay for things in a place like this, in fact it almost seemed like humans and machines got along here. A thought that made Devola scowl for a brief moment, thankfully it appeared she wouldnât be requiring her sword here. At first, seeing Tony wave, she couldnât help but feel the urge to wave back. Her question of âwas he signalling us?â was answered shortly after, as Devola was now nearly tugging at Andiâs arm.
âżÂ    âLetâs go! No time to waste, if he did it then she just needs to be rebooted!â The tone of her voice was a mixture of excitement and worry, if it wasnât for the respect she had of this place Devola would have just jumped down through the observatory right then and there. That, and she was still holding onto Andi, she didnât want to risk injuring her friend or anyone below them with the breaking of glass.
abyssalmedium-moved
âSome people sleep entirely naked, or donât wear as much bottom clothing as I do.â He mentioned as mentioned on his way out from the bathroom. He was mostly done anyhow. When he was out there. The question of the stars was brought up and Obi had to explain things two fold here.Â
âWell yes, the cloudy night is what prevented you from seeing the starts last night, just given the clouds blocking the stars but! Thereâs an issue even if the night here was crystal clear thereâsâŚ.too much artificial light from How i understand what Light Pollution does.â He blew out a bit of air.Â
âThink of all the street lights, the building lights, all of that, as making something of aâŚfog, that stars donât come through. So, to get a true night sky, from what I know. We gotta get far out of the city, But i know just the place to take us when the night is drawing near.âÂ
âSo, We can go to the library first, thereâs a handful of ones we can go to, but closest one will be pretty busy and crowded. You two sure you can handle crowds?â He asked, just to be sure about everything.Â
â    âWeâve never quite had that problem, if I were honest with you. Eternal daylight aside, we never entered a city that was fully of lights. The most weâve seen are a couple of torches and campfires, their main purpose being to keep warm.â Any bright lights were usually a warning sign not to approach, and the ruins one would claim to be a former city had nothing of the sort except for what the machines produced.
âżÂ    âWe may have been through a lot in the past, but weâre really not that fragile. Crowds are easy, it shouldnât be a problem at all so long as no one tries to start something with us. Even then, I can take care of it.â The cockiness in her voice was very prominent, though of course Devola wasnât going to go around fighting people. Not in a library, at least. Popola wasnât going to allow that.
â    âBy that, she means Iâll take care of her, because we are not starting fights when weâve been here for less than a day! Especially because I donât actually know how physically strong either of us are... weâve always used our swords and clearly we didnât take those with us.â For a good reason, too. They couldnât just walk around with swords in public here, theyâd look so strange! Well... stranger than the twins already look. That, and the law officials might not appreciate them wandering about with literal weapons, someone could get hurt.
âżÂ    âI never said Iâd start a fight! Just... finish it~. ... Aw man, that means we left the alcohol behind too! What a disappointment... oh well. So, does this mean weâre ready to head off then? No rush or anything, Popola and I have plenty of time to spare.â

She should have figured that Devola wouldnât want to be any further from Popola than she already was, to the point that she couldnât stand the idea of Popola not being within sight of her. Still, Andi wasnât sure she exactly wanted to debate or discuss nudity in front of Flash and the naked Android wrapped in a blanket. Andi moved over to one of the observation deck windows, and pulled the blinds down, working them so the view of the deck would be obscured, then she turned to Flash. âUm, a little privacy please?â
âW-What?â Flash quirked a brow and scratched his head, Andiâs plan going over his head.
âShe wants to change here, leave her alone.â Andi urged her mentor on.
âSo, what, do I just turn around orââ
âNo. Youâll peek. And thatâs creepy. Now get out.â Andi began pushing Flash towards a door, any door, and trying to move him out of the room. âSeriously Coach, have some class.â
âI wasnât going toââÂ
Flash yelped when Andi eventually slammed the door behind him, letting out a small chuckle, sometimes it was fun to screw with her mentor. âHeâs a pain in the ass, but he means well.â
Andi then turned back to Devola, making sure she was behind the blinds, acting as a sort of partition, then turned her back to Devola, keeping an eye out of the observation deck, watching as Tony moved back and forth between Popolaâs stretcher and the screen, where heâd begin fiddling with stuff on the console. âI tried to give you as much privacy as I could, Iâll keep an eye on her while you get dressed.âÂ
âżÂ   Devola couldnât help but laugh a bit herself at what was going on before her, the situation sheâd found herself in was already strange enough but it seemed to get worse, or one would say better the longer it went on. âDonât worry too much about it, Iâm sure he didnât have any harm intended, though Iâll admit his reactions are rather amusing. In a time like this, I really did need a bit of a laugh, so... maybe Iâll thank him for it later.â After all, the overall mood here was fairly dim, it couldnât hurt to lighten things up a bit.
âżÂ    âYeah.... okay. I trust you, just let me know if something changes. This shouldnât take long.â Of course, Devola was hesitant to turn away from the window, but it wouldnât do any good to just stand around bare-skinned either. Taking a deep breath, she shifted her focus to the clothes in her hands, dropping the blanket nearby as she began to put them on. Underwear first, then the pants, and finally the shirt. Compared to her usual attire, this outfit felt a little strange, especially since it was made of a different fabric. It was enough that she couldnât help but tug gently at the bottom of her shirt, giving it an odd look.
âżÂ    âSo, uh... later on, if- when, when Popola wakes up... is there a place to obtain slightly more fashionable clothes? Donât get me wrong, Iâm grateful for these ones, itâs just... maybe not my style. Heh.â Mentally, Devola had punched herself for saying such a thing. Even in the back of her mind, there was the smallest of thoughts that her sister might not make it through this, and she hated that. Shaking the thought off, she replaced it with an image of what current clothes she might wear. Perhaps a short sleeve blouse and some jeans would suit her better, but obviously her old clothes were in no condition to be worn again. A shame, the twins were fond of that outfit. With a hushed sigh and a shake of her head, she picked up the blanket and returned to Andi, unsure where to put the now unneeded item.
âžÂ   Both of them could be found sitting within the nearby river just up to their chests, it was a slow stream so it didnât try to take them with it. Today was awfully hot and this was the only way they knew how to cool off, even if it got them strange glances from anyone passing by. It was one of the few moments they could relax, even if they were still well aware of their surroundings and anyone approaching.
symbioteburnout
She nodded, Andi could understand wanting to forget a scene like that, hell, she wanted to get the image of finding her two friends dead in the rubble out of her head, but she couldnâtâŚÂ âI⌠I mean I donât know, we can always check later.â Right now, Andi just wanted to be sure Popola could be revived with her memories intact, they were already trying to get Mr. Stark to work a miracleâŚ
The doors to the observation room opened and in walked Flash, with a bundle of clothes in his arms. He wore an outfit much like Andiâs Mania costume, only his was a more armored look, resembling a soldier and member of SWAT. The clothes in his arms were mainly used for exercising, some trackpants, a white t-shirt with the Avengers emblem on it, as well as womenâs sports underwear. He was mumbling something about how Black Widow was never going to let him live it down that he had to ask around for spare bloomers and a sports bra. Probably hadnât crossed his mind heâd also have to do this for Popola.
âUm, hey, I⌠I brought you your clothes, thereâs a restroom if you wanna change in there.â Flash offered the bundle of clothes to the wavy haired android, Andi trying to stifle a little giggle at the embarrassed look on her mentorâs face.
Andi nodded, but she didnât know if Devola wanted to go right away, it took a bit of persuading just to get Devola to leave the lab, as long as Popola was still in sight, but in the restroom, well, there was a wall that obstructed the view of her sister. âC⌠Come on, letâs get you dressed.â Andi looked up to Devola.
âżÂ    âYeah, I guess youâre right. The most important part right now is making sure she makes it out of this okay. Iâll be damned if she doesnât... hell, Iâll go into her system myself if I have to.â It wouldnât be a problem if Popola only needed physical repair as theyâve had to keep each other running for years on their own. Memory troubles was a bit further than they were used to patching, Devola wouldnât quite know what to do but that wouldnât stop her from trying if she had to. Hearing someone approach startled her a bit, dragging the android from her thoughts as she glanced over at the man.
âżÂ    âOh, uh... thanks. I appreciate it.â Staring at the strange clothes, however, Devola couldnât help but raise a brow at what she held in her hands. The style was far different than what sheâd become accustomed to, it didnât quite look like something sheâd wear. She couldnât complain though, it was all they had to give and it was better than running around with the entirety of her artificial skin bare to the world. âDo humans usually react that way to bare skin? I donât see what the big deal is.â How flustered Flash had become when looking at her had the android confused, and thinking upon it now Andi had reacted the same way earlier. As stubborn as always however, when nudged by Andi to change into the new clothes, Devola didnât budge.
âżÂ    âWait, canât I just change right here? Itâs bad enough the physical distance between us has been lengthened, I donât want to lose sight of her too.â The thought had her fingers fidgeting at her side, they were lucky it was Devola who woke first as Popola would handle this sort of situation a lot worse than she was. Still, it was clear being without her sister was giving the wavy-haired twin anxiety, and if it really had to come down to it Andi would have to drag her to the other room. Devola wasnât going to move on her own, even though her motor system had fully rebooted by now.
âżÂ    âBesides, itâs not like anyone else is looking, right? Humans seem to get flustered at the sight, but everyone down there is busy and youâre the only other one up here with me. I donât see why Iâd have to change locations.â

Obi was very much lost in his own morning routine, trying to shake the bad feelings he had gotten from that reoccurring nightmare. Hearing Devola made him jump in fear exclaiming out âShit!â He coughed before he was able to compose himself sensing Devola again. Embarrassed at that he cleared his throat as he felt more naked than he actually was.Â
âSorryâŚ.I had kind forgotten I had guests. and UhhâŚNo, this is a normal thing to me. Humans are typically less panicky, but more naked in the mornings. Overall. Your mileage my vary. ErâŚ.Itâs different depending on where you go.â Using Idioms was something Obi figured was better left behind for now, not wanting to explain every turn of phrase heâd use.Â
Obi grabbed up a bit of water, raking back his black mop of hair. âBut. Good morning Devola.â Obi shook his head, little bits of water flying from his hair, âJust, give me a moment and Iâll rejoin you both in the living room.â He shuffled past Devola back into his bedroom. Getting a grey sleeveless shirt, Blue Jeans to go with it.
Rejoining them he had mostly shoved down any negative effects from his nightmare as he spoke up. âSo, we have an entire day butâŚwe have one place to go to at night time. If you guys want to see a night sky, I want you guys to see a real night sky. You wonât get that in New York. Too much light pollutionâ Â
âżÂ    âEr... my bad. I was trying to avoid startling you, guess that didnât work out so well. Wait... more naked? Seems off, but what do I know about humans, yeah?â In the past, a lot. They had actually worked with humans before, but due to having their memory wiped, neither of the two remembered doing so. Which would explain why this world was so strange to them, and Devolaâs confusion in human morning habits. As he came forward she stepped out of the way, giving him a small nod. âAlright then, weâll be there. Take your time, no rush.â
âžÂ   Itâs not like theyâd be going anywhere anyway, Popola was still entranced by the sunrise and the calm music playing from the nearby radio. While he got ready, Devola had made her way back to the living room, sitting herself gently on the couch. She took a moment to close her eyes and enjoy the comforting feeling it held, almost as if she was about to nap. She was listening however, waiting for the familiar sound of footsteps approaching, ones that would let her know Obi had returned. Upon hearing him approach, her eyes opened again.
â    âIs that why there werenât any visible stars? I know theyâre up there, but... last night I couldnât see a single one! I thought it was just because of the clouds.â Which could have been true for the first half of the night, but it was obvious now that the storm had passed. It took her a moment to remember what they had planned, but once it hit, a big grin plastered itself across her face. âThe library, right? Not... not at night, but I mean during the day! Iâd really love to see it, I bet even my old collection of books has nothing on a place whoâs sole purpose is housing books.â The excitement could easily be heard in her voice, if not just for the library, but for getting out to see this world of his.
Iâll try to get to replies later tonight, Iâm juggling a few things alongside a drawing of mine Iâve been meaning to get done for weeks now. Itâs also hot af right now and that is messing with me pretty badly, but Iâll do my best to get those done and out before I sleep tonight. As always, feel free to bother me on discord if youâd like.
