Hey you know how when people are seriously ill with life threatening sicknesses they're usually quarantined? You think Sarah Rogers had to be kept away from Steve when she was dying? That it was to dangerous to risk Steve getting sick too? You wonder if he was even allowed to see her before she died? Before she was buried?

But lets be real here - this is Steve we're talking about. There's no way he had enough regard for his own personal safety to care. Steve would have broken every rule, risked everything to see his mom before she passed. But Bucky? The Barnes Family? The people who promised to take care of Steve? How could they allow him to risk himself?

So don't think about Bucky having to be the one to hold Steve back from seeing his mom. Don't think about Steve trying to fight him, telling Bucky he'll never forgive him for this. And don't think about Bucky having to wrestle with Steve, having to hold his best friends frail body against his chest and try to convince him that it won't do anyone any good if he dies too. That Bucky knows hes being selfish, hes being terrible and horrible and Steve has every right to hate him, but he's can't risk losing Steve too. He just can't.
