Speaking as someone with very little knowledge of Star Trek - I’ve seen like three episodes from random versions and I read Spock’s World - I violently disagree with this.
Even before I had such minimal knowledge as I do now, I thought that “vulcan” was a very appropriate word for them. It’s not that they don’t have emotions, if anything they have more than humans, they just run hard and deep, like volcanoes. You don’t want that thing to erupt.
So I imagine vulcan children’s TV is much like Sesame Street. Here is a muppet with anger issues! He spilled his milk and it made him ANGRY!!! Here comes someone dressed in completely normal clothes to say yes, that was indeed unfortunate, but anger is an irrational response to such a thing and not in keeping with the teachings of Surak; let us now explore different forms of meditation as emotional control, one of which includes three normally dressed individuals reciting multiplication tables in unison.

Ok but there was this guy called Ea-nasir who was a total crook and would actually cheat people ought of good copper and sell them shit instead. The amount of correspondences complaining to and about this guy are HILARIOUS.

More like 4000 years ago but yes. Ea-nasir and his dodgy business deals.
And we haven’t even touched on the true hilarity of the situation yet. Consider two additional facts:
He wasn’t just into copper trading. There are letters complaining about Ea-nasir’s business practices with respect to everything from kitchenwares to real estate speculation to second-hand clothing. The guy was everywhere.
The majority of the surviving correspondences regarding Ea-nasir were recovered from one particular room in a building that is believed to have been Ea-nasir’s own house.
Like, these are clay tablets. They’re bulky, fragile, and difficult to store. They typically weren’t kept long-term unless they contained financial records or other vital information (which is why we have huge reams of financial data about ancient Babylon in spite of how little we know about the actual culture: most of the surviving tablets are commercial inventories, bills of sale, etc.).
But this guy, this Ea-nasir, he kept all of his angry letters - hundreds of them - and meticulously filed and preserved them in a dedicated room in his house. What kind of guy does that?

thinking about how good friendship is…..like two people just like each other….and choose over and over to spend time with each other……quite special how diverse human relationships are..every friendship is special and u cant be close friends with everybody…..for some unknown reason certain people just enjoy each other..and i think we take for granted how fantastic that is

The first thing I saw about Welsh and the culture of Wales (i.e. the place I was born and still live in) on the internet was a stupid comic about how Welsh looked like a keyboard smash and Welsh people are all sheep-fuckers.
The first time I heard Welsh mentioned in any (English) media was someone saying it wasn't a real language.
The first time I told my internet friends I was from Wales they called me English, even though I repeatedly told them not to.
I constantly see people talking about Britain and British people when they mean England and English people (thus erasing the other non-English countries in the UK like Wales).
I keep getting told by people that I should stop pursuing my studies in Welsh and Celtic studies and just let the cultures and languages die, even though they are only at risk of dying because of English colonialism and hundreds of years of oppression.
The first thing related to Wales on Tumblr I saw was 'The W Post' with a bunch of people in the notes talking about how stupid the spelling of the Welsh language is.
