It's still July 31st where I'm at. Please be kind to me this is my first time doing something like this EVER. I had to hop on this event and write a cute domestic fanfic of my favorite couple since I was in middle school. I got the inspiration from the apartment I was visiting and saw the dog park.
Photo was taken by me I literally spent like 20 minutes trying to take the photo because I didn't want to get any of the people in it.
I decided to use Katsuya instead of Jonouchi because they're married in this fic and his name would be Katsuya Kaiba not Jonouchi. But Jojo is a reference to Jonouchi. Anyways thank you for reading!
Kaijou Summer Event 2026!
Katsuya sighs in content as he stands right next to his husband, enjoying the breeze from the warm summer evening. He and Seto had just moved into a new apartment complex together in a coastal town outside of Domino. After being in a cold office building for hours, being outside in the warm air was a nice change.
Seto gave Katsuya a Golden Retriever puppy for their anniversary last year, he was feeling lonely after Mokuba moved out for college and Kaiba estate was feeling too cold so moving was the best option.
The apartment complex was perfect, there was a dog park and a long walkway that went around the lake with a water fountain in the middle. And it was only a 30 minute drive to the office so it was perfect for the little family of three.
“Katsuya, Jojo wants you to throw his ball.” Katsuya’s face turns to look at Seto when he says that. He grins sheepishly before looking towards the puppy. Jojo barks happily as his dad finally acknowledges him.
“You ready buddy? Are you ready?!” Katsuya says excitedly to the jumping ball of fur. Jojo barks in anticipation while waiting for the blue ball in his hand to be thrown. He chuckles and with the swing of his arm the ball has gone airborne. Jojo chases quickly after the ball across the dog park, a flash of gold running past the equipment.
“He reminds me of you when we were younger. Happy when someone gives them their attention and full of energy that never seems to end.” Seto says while he wraps his arms around the blonde shoulders. He hears Katsuya huff in his grasp in response to his comment.
“Yeah, well he reminds me of you when he doesn’t get his way. He glared at me when I didn’t let him eat the chocolate I dropped on the floor. God forbid I wanna keep him alive.” He huffed out before crossing his tanned arms over his chest.
The brunette gave him a surprised look before chuckling softly into the air. He pulls Katsuya into his arms, pulling him to his chest before he buries his face into the golden locks of hair. The setting sun and the breeze was making the blondes long hair tousle in the air, looking like fire in the wind. A look that Seto will never get over on his beloved, looking like the ball of sunshine that he is, he will always love it. Soon warm brown eyes met cold blue eyes, causing Seto's breath to hitch when Katsuya's eyes glowed in the golden hour as he smiled up at him.
“God, you’re so beautiful to me.” Seto murmurs as he pulls Katsuya into a kiss. Katsuya smiles into their shared kiss as the wind blows around them, making their hair dance in their faces, golden blonde meeting chocolate brown. The two were so caught up in their moment that they didn’t notice the Golden Retriever had returned with his ball in his mouth, looking up at his parents sitting with his tail wagging side to side happily. After a minute he paws at both their legs to get their attention, they both turn to look down at him. Seto brings a hand down to pet Jojo’s head lightly and then grabs the ball from his mouth. He holds the ball in his hand a little longer before tossing it once more. Jojo took off once again, leaving the two alone in their embrace.
Katsuya gave Seto a quick peck on the cheek before laying head on his shoulder.
“It feels so nice right now, I wish it was like this all the time, all warm and peaceful.” Katsuya sighs happily while leaning on his husband. Seto hums in agreement before laying his head on top of Katsuya's head.
After a while they packed up and began to make their way towards their apartment on the second floor. Katsuya was stuck in thought before he opened the door.
“How do you feel about getting a cat?” He says while grinning.
