My name is Kathryn, and I'm a displaced Texan living in San Francisco. I love Texas, and I'm tired of seeing half of its constituency being bullied by backwards-thinking, misogynistic assholes. That is why I STAND WITH TEXAS WOMEN.

My family and I went to the rally in Houston on July 9th; we heard inspiring testimony from real women in Texas who have counted on Planned Parenthood to care for their medical health. The Senators who spoke gave me such hope for the future of Texas; it was truly amazing to be surrounded by fellow Texans who want the state to head the same direction as my family and I. In this picture Senator Davis concluded her speech by pointing up to my sweet daughter who was sitting on my husbands shoulders and saying to the effect of, "I want this beautiful little girl to have every opportunity."

Different generations (I first met Samantha when I was friends with her mom and Sam was about 5 years old) fighting the same battle. I never thought I'd still be doing this but I'm grateful to have so many young women standing up with me.
