“Oh, how you flatter me,” she remarked in response as a small chuckle fell past her lips. Sighing softly, Adriana reached an arm upward to rub the nape of her neck. “Fine. But I want unlimited food and you have to let me steal as much of your food as I desire.” The brunette edged even closer towards him, an undeniably mischievous grin curling at the edges of her mouth, before she parted her lips to speak once more. “I’ll be keeping the jacket too if you don’t mind.”

Tyler looked down at his wallet again. Sure he had a full time job, but he worked for his family, so it wasn’t like he had the biggest income imaginable. Still, how much could that girl really it? It was safe to say he could afford the date. “Fine, but when I order three desserts, one for you and two for me, you have to leave one of them alone.” Tyler froze as Adriana moved closer. Now she was coming onto him and he wasn’t sure how to handle it. Letting out a shaky breath, he smiled trying to regain his cool. “It looks better on you.”

“Now you’re just deliberately trying to torture me,” she stated nonchalantly in response, an undeniably teasing undertone in her voice. Much to Adriana’s dismay, she couldn’t seem to disguise the hint of a smile tugging at the edges of her mouth no matter how hard she tried. Her eyebrows knitted inward as her mind was entirely pensive—she truly had no clue what he was trying to achieve with this encounter. “I hate to break it to you but your tactics for picking up girls need some serious work. But, just for the record, how fancy are we talking here?”

Tyler couldn’t help but frown at her slightly. “It is my jacket,” he remarked, holding his tongue about how she was the one who spilt the coffee in the first place. Despite that though, he could tell she was at least amused. “You’re the first gal pretty enough for me to try ‘n pick up, cut me some slack.” And it was true. All Tyler did was work and there were no girls there except for his twin sister, plus all of her friends she set him up with sucked. “Better than Applebees, but not a 5-star steak house.”

Arching a brow incredulously, Adriana couldn’t quite quell the devilish smirk that had managed to etch itself onto her features. The brunette then reached downward to retrieve the coffee cup she had dropped before discarding the container in a nearby trashcan. “I think I can live with that,” she responded in a blunt manner as she slipped her mobile back into one of her pockets. “You might want to buy me a new outfit while you’re at it too since this jacket definitely isn’t doing me any favors.” Draping her arms around her torso, Adri edged even closer towards him. “And you’re the one who’s gonna be forced to look at me, so. Or you can just listen to me complaining about it for an eternity. Your choice.”

“I think it looks nice on ya,” he commented with an obnoxious smirk. If she was going to be sassy, he was going to be the exact opposite. Kill ‘em with kindness, his mother always told him. Plus, he could tell she was warming up to him. Holding up his finger, he pulled out his wallet and quickly counted up the cash he had in it, weighed the pros and cons, all before looking back at her. “Okay, a new shirt, since that’s all that got ruined and a coffee.” He paused for a moment, wondering if he tested his luck before deciding he finally did. “Or, go home and clean up and let me take ya out tonight to a fancy dinner.”

Emitting an overly dramatic huff, Adri loosened her grip on the stranger’s arm. Eyes downcast, the brunette gazed at her now coffee-stained shirt with nothing but an expression of sheer distaste plastered across her features. Unable to suppress it for any longer, an angry twitch developed in her upper lip. “How chivalrous of you,” she stated hoarsely in response, removing the jacket from his grasp in one swift movement before wrapping it around her frame. A breathy hint of a laugh fell past Adriana’s lips as his words filled her ears. However, it was short-lived as her lips pursed together almost instantaneously. “Y’know, we have eyes for a reason so you might want to use them in the future.”

Tyler was almost amused by how angry the woman in front of him was. It wasn’t like Tyler had stolen some of her jewelry or something. She had run into him. The proof was in the moments after their collision. She had had the coffee and judging by the phone in her other hand, she was the one who hadn’t using her eyes. While he’d been observing her though, Tyler did notice that she was pretty easy on the eyes. “I’m usin’ ‘em now,” he whispered under his breath, really getting a good look at her. Feeling as if he was gawking for far too long, he scrunched his face together looking away. Running his fingers through his hair, he manned up and turned back to her. “Look, if you’re not in a hurry I buy ya another drink ma’am.”
