Hi-Fi propotype testing

The Lynda.com online video going through methodologies and methods on carrying out the test of usability. The test is carried out on a target users to see their behaviour while using your product (proposed ideology) This test enables me to make important improvements on the product based on what I see and the invaluable information

Invision tutorial

This week, the signing up to the Invision website. We started on the making and design on the propotypes unto a piece of software that will aid in the design testing and evaluation. This will also be documented in the project 2 report to show the progression and refinement of our intended proposed ideology to the point that it has no flaws

Design direction

This week, it was an insight into how to tackle project 1 report. It was an opportunity to leverage current patterns of usability and information design. Series of steps for the first project report... 1.Identifying a problem 2. Getting insight (research) into the nature of the problem: symptoms vs disease 3. Developing/proposing a solution to the problem. 4. Iterative design process: a) Investigating need/acceptability for the proposed solution. b) Defining users and product requirements c) Designing the product and testing its usability 5. Story boarding

This week was about focusing on story boarding our proposed ideas, to visual see how the target user would implement it. I also held a focus group after layi out all the thumbnails of my idea on the table, valuable feedback was given back to me on features I hadn't thought of and other concerns the focus group raises. I will be including that in my project proposal due this coming week!

Persona & Scenario development

This week was focussed on the completion of our personas and scenario development.. The personas are uses basically 3 (primary, secondary and tertiary). Moving on to scenario development, this is basically a scenario in which he target user would most implement my proposed solution given in the right environment and factors..

I am on track and will liase with the unit conveyor to keep on track and not go astray.

Persona and user study

This week we were working more on our ideas, the persona was initially to introduce primary users, secondary users and tertiary (excluded)

Primary - people who will benefit the most from my introduced idea.

Secondary - people with some benefit from my introduced idea.

Tertiary - people who will not benefit from my introduced idea. 

However I will aim to not focus on the third party as they do not benefit from my idea.

Proposed plan refinement

This week was all about intended innovation plan refinement. In our groups it was a all about looking at possible defects within our ideas. 

My intended idea needed refinement and it came down that the bottom line was: it needs more user input

Multiplatforming learning management tool

This week’s was all focused on addressing some if not all of the issues university students encounter in their first year of university enrolment, whether it be (time management, stress and/or motivation)

most ideas revolved around application creation with aspect to technological advancements that would cater for the needs either(1-3) of above mentioned problems or obstacles individuals encounter as as student. second objective was brainstorming, put in groups to refine our broad ideas and ironing out any factors that may degrade the sole purpose behind the application ideas
