#FOMI2016
The Festival of the Moving Image (FOMI) was originally founded in 2007 by Vladimir Smith Mesa as a primarily academic film festival. Since 2012, it has been organised by the UCLU Film and TV Society, with each progressive year involving a new committee and new themes; the recent 2013-2014 edition was awarded the UCLU Award for Best Event.
This year’s festival will bring a fusion of past and present under the theme of “retrospectives and new waves”. From the work of Brazilian filmmaker Glauber Rocha to acclaimed British director Ken Loach our selection of films this year travels across the world, featuring both feature films and exciting new documentaries.
