Which sorority are you in?

Can't tell, won't tell. It really doesn't matter. =)

i am a sophomore in high school in Atlanta. I aspire to attend college at UGA. Do you have any advice? I was just wondering... and i have watched all the videos about 'why UGA'. haha just curious

I have TONS of advice!! Just a few things to get ready for college:

Get involved with things. Not EVERYthing, but some things that you really enjoy. Then find new ones in college.

REALLY focus on your grades. Being from ATL, you have a lot of competition. I was from a small town, so I had almost no competition with my grades and testing scores.

Don't waste your next few years wishing you were in college. Please go be a kid and don't get into trouble with drugs, alcohol, or babies. Those can and will end your race to UGA quickly.

Do NOT make plans to live with a friend in college. Living with someone you have been close to seems like the most fabulous idea, but it will most likely end badly. Do random assignment (I did, and everything turned out fine!) or find someone that you don't really know to live with. You won't want to say something to a friend that might hurt his/her feelings, but you will be much more comfortable telling someone you don't have a previous relationship with that he or she needs to stop turning on the lights at 5 am when they get up.

Apply to and consider other schools. I only applied to two ans was accepted into both, but sometimes I wonder what could have happened if I had let myself spread my wings a little more. At least entertain the thought.

Discover an interesting fact about yourself to tell during interviews, orientation, classes, and recruitment. If you don't yet have an interesting fact, do something interesting and make that your fact!!

Okay, I don't know what sort of advice you may be looking for, but that's what I have off the top of my head. If you want to know anything else, ask away!!

Hey, I am looking for some truth and advice about hazing or "inspiration week". I have always wanted to join a sorority like all of the other amazing women in my family, however as college approaches my friends keep telling me their horror stories which range from being punched in the face to being tricked into swallowing live goldfishes. I like the idea of sisters and friendship but not at the price of my self respect. what was your hazing experience like ?

I'll be honest; I was never hazed in my sorority at all. Of course, there are always horror stories of other sororities on campus hazing, but I highly doubt those rumors are true. Before I joined a sorority, I was positive I was going to be hazed, but instead only found love, friendship, and kindness. New girls actually get presents during most pledgeships! I'm an upperclassman, and I've never heard of "inspiration week."

In short: We never haze in our chapter, and I doubt other chapters do either. If you think you might was to join a sorority, definitely go through recruitment! It'll be tough (early mornings and long days and an emotional rollercoaster) but if you find the perfect house for you, it will all be worth it! =)
