depending on how i'm feeling after work today, maybe i'll make a proper intro post for ibuki after the long delay aaaah. thank you for being patient with me because i'd love to interact with y'all more.
"Emotions and sounding mainstream.." So that was the case. If he remembers correctly... Ibuki fell out with her previous band for sounding far too generic and Ibuki wanted to try something different. As for the emotions part, that was the same opinion Kaede had...Both musicians wanted an emotion out of the performance.
"...Tell me. What emotion would you like to hear instead of I just played right now." He could easily replicate that feeling Ibuki wants... "Or rather, you want to put my feelings into the music? Is that it?" It was most likely the latter-- For him, emotions were difficult....But to appease her wants, Izuru tunes the bass guitar to a different pitch and plucks at the strings.
"Hmm. . . Well, Ibuki knows Izu has a hard time expressing emotions, so she's not going to pressure you into suddenly feeling things! But has Izu ever considered putting his anger or frustration into his music? Or maybe the feeling Izu gets when you get to drink orange juice after a long day! Those are just a few examples Ibuki can think up! "
She's considering based on what she's seen from him, because she can hear his potential! And to her, music is an outlet, so she wants to help Izuru use music as an outlet too. That being said though, Ibuki is still in her thinking pose, trying to come up with all different options and suggestions.
@ultimatelightmusicclub is Izuru's biggest critic.
A short jam session between the two had quickly come to an end. While Kaede was a lot softer on critiquing his musical skills-- Ibuki was.....surprisingly harsh. His bass playing was ultimately The best of the best. However, Ibuki's comment caught him off guard. She had the skills and the experience in working in a group compared to Izuru; who works better alone. That was the reason he sucked so bad.
"..What do you even mean 'I suck'? You asked me to play and I did. Isn't that what you wanted?"
.... At least she wasn't suggesting he open a public SNS account like last time. He would die than post a bunch of random pictures of his daily life.
"It's true that you did play what Ibuki told you to play, but the issue is that there's no emotion in your playing! It sounds like the stuff you'd hear from bands that are suuuuper mainstream , and while those are usually the songs that everybody likes, you don't feel the artist put any true feeling to it! That's why Ibuki is saying you suck."
She's critiquing him hard, but she does understand that for Izuru, emotions aren't a very common thing for him. That being said, the fact his music sounded so mainstream to her is. . . probably hitting a soft spot for her personally, so she's being extra harsher than usual.
