The Grand Sunset Parade. Mitsuru has decided to duck out of her townhouse tonight to see what a Spirale parade might be like – and to her surprise, it isn’t too far from those she had seen back home. The music, the performers…it’s almost eerie how similar it is to what one would see in Japan, and she has to wonder if there is a stronger connection between the two places than she has previously thought. Perhaps a bit more research will be in order…but for now this will be enough. Though she isn’t a fan of crowds she can’t help but join in the merriment – once again, the excitement is almost contagious. 

Nearly swept away, she walks a bit farther down the sidewalk until she sees what appears to be a familiar visage: slightly messy brown hair, earnest eyes the same hue, and…is that…an albino shiba inu at his side? It can’t be…but then…can it? If that is who she believes it to be, then time must have passed back home…for if Ken Amada is truly standing before her, he’s certainly older than he had been when she had last seen him. Because of this, she’s nervous – but she doesn’t dare let it show as she steps forward, resisting the urge to let Koromaru sniff her hand.

Her voice is steady as she speaks, not wanting to assume – or perhaps not wanting to take him for granted. “Are you Ken Amada?”

Ken walked among the crowds watching the parade, a feeling of slight unease in his stomach. At times like this, he’d try to relax and find something to do to keep his mind off of stressful thoughts, especially at a festival of all times... But the fact that he was here, at a place far too similar to the Hive... It made him feel anxious. Would anybody he’s met be here? Can he find new allies fast? New enemies? Well, at least he’s got Koromaru here. Things could be worse.

“Bark, bark!” The shiba inu by Ken’s side wagged his tail rapidly and ran off into the crowd.

“Ah-- Koromaru, wait!” Ken shouted, giving chase and apologizing to every single person that he bumped into in the process. After hearing another bark from Koromaru just up ahead, Ken pushed through to meet him, kneeling down. “Koromaru, you know better than to run off like that!” Ken began to scold his dog, only to suddenly hear a familiar voice say his name. Looking up, the boy realized why the canine did what he did.

“Mitsuru-san!” He smiled, feeling his face flush pink in slight embarrassment. “Y-Yeah, it’s me. Koromaru must’ve sensed that you were nearby.” Despite the situation, Ken felt a wave of relief wash over himself. If there’s one person back home who would make him feel the safest, it would be Mitsuru.
