ïżŒThis is such a turning point for them but particularly Villanelle. Eve has really hurt her in a deep way this season by putting her in jail and by her actions with Helene.
Before she ever even wet to see Martin, V was trying her best to show Eve her vulnerable side thinking Eve didnât know she was more then just a monster, but Eve has known that since the first moment she was so much more.
Putting her in jail is so benign. It requires no effort or interest on Eves part. She knows Villanelle will be able to get out in about 3 seconds its lazy and itâs boredâ it says that Eve doesnât care enough to even bother to try anymore, which is why V is so upset most of S4. When V gets out sheâs pissed and heart broken and wants to get back to doing the things that made her feel on top. Something that will make her feel powerful again.
Her anger is muddled, but that wound still hurts more then the arrow in her back. Later hearing about Helene â and how intimate Eve has been with someone else is the final straw. Villanelle is sick of Eve not seeing her for who she is completely. Where as other couldnât accept Villanelles darker side, Eve has failed to accept her light said and that hurts in a way that is new for Villanelle.
The scene above is the moment we finally get to see Villanelle be fully human and her growth by seeing Eve and by choosing to forgive her and move forward. Touching her scar Villanelle is remembering the connection they share and considering Eveâs wordsââyouâre hurt, Iâm hurtâ Villanelle is forced to admit that she right and that they are still the same.
She tests this understanding when Eve looks at her by cautiously asks âdo you want to steal their stupid camper van?â When Eve smiles at her and Villanelle finally can relax because she knows that deep down Eve never left her and that they still understand each other and thatâs the connection sheâs been seeking her whole life. Someone who understands herâ the whole her.
I heard (someone said it but I have no idea if it's true) that V getting back the spark for killing is because Jodie requested it?
Jodie said it lmaooo. She said with this being the last season they were asked if there was anything they wanted and Jodie requested one last scene with Kim and that they give V her spark back because she felt it had been lost. I think they did a really shit job at both things since Jodie had to improv her scene with Kim to make it the emotional/memorable goodbye she was looking for and I don't think they succeeded in returning Villanelle's spark back to her and they certainly didn't honor that spark in the way she died
Saw Jodie Comer in the West End today. She was sooo good!!!! Amazing, brilliant
