A woman hiking discovered a sheep that was on the verge of suffocating in the mud, exhausted and bleating pitifully. She managed to pull it out by grabbing its horns, but its wool, soaked with mud like a sponge fully laden with water, was so heavy that she thought it wouldn't survive like this, so she took it to a nearby water's edge and washed the mud off, or so the story goes.
