This is a place where you can get updates about new content for the AU and ask questions about it. I can't promise I'll answer everything, though!

Hey! It's been a while!
I'm not sure how many people care about this blog, but UMBRATALE has been back in motion for a while now. Check out the SoundCloud page for all the new songs so far!

It's pretty close to being caught up to where it was pre-rework. Most of the existing songs have been replaced entirely, with some others getting remakes. I hope everyone is excited for what the AU has in store!
I can't promise that I'll use this blog too much, but if there's any interest then I'll try to provide occasional updates on the AU's progress, and maybe even fun trivia about the story and characters. :)

I know some people have been wondering "What the HELL happened to UMBRATALE?"
The truth is, it's pretty much been on hiatus for a while now. I generally lost motivation to work on the AU, especially considering how many aspects of it I was dissatisfied with.
However, I'm excited to announce that there's actually a revamp in progress RIGHT NOW! I decided to rethink several of the AU's roles, most importantly. This will mean that a lot of the existing tracks need to be scrapped - however, I think the long-term benefit of the AU just being better in general will be worth it.
I'm not yet going to say what exactly is being changed and what isn't - it includes some roles that were already shown off and some that weren't.
Regardless, I hope you all enjoy the new UMBRATALE.
This revamp will also solve the issue of some songs (like Your Best Friend) not having proper replacements. There are no longer any major characters that stay in their original role, and I'm going to adjust things like the areas as well to make sure they're at least different enough to be worth a new song.

I like how this AU acknowledges the (Sans/Alphys Papyrus/Undyne) pairs and switches them, and I also like how Mad Dummy and Napstablook are switched because they both have similar songs and setups. All of this just feels natural and I wish Underswap was like this from the start
Mad Dummy and Napstablook actually aren't switched directly. It's more of a "shift" in their situation. It'll become more clear as the story progresses.

Sorry for the lack of new stuff lately! I've been super sick and unable to do pretty much anything productive. I'm hoping to be back on my feet within a couple days, so keep your eyes peeled!

If you mean the ghost in the "Ghost Fight" thumbnail, yes that's Mad Dummy's ghost.
While I'm here, I figure I may as well post all the currently public designs. Just so they're preserved somewhere without shitty SoundCloud thumbnail compression
Asgore's Heartache went through a couple "beta" iterations before I ended up with a version I was happy with.
They were both highly unfinished, but the second one was definitely a lot farther along. Either way, I'm much happier with the final version.

Will the swap for flowey be revealed on a later date seeing as there is no song the flowey replacement on the sc yet
Flowey is still the same as he always was.
I mentioned in the bio that a specific few songs will stay the same as they are in Undertale. YBF is one of those. I don't want to reupload Toby's music.
