pretty good bad idea.
umhaneul:
ah shit, here we go.
he doesn’t run. that would make it too obvious, make him look extra guilty. so, he brisk walks, forces his feet to move faster, zigzagging along the way in hopes that he loses his initial target. the man’s voice causes some bystanders to glance in his direction, and haneul can feel himself starting to sweat nervously despite the cool air of the evening. despite his expert tactics, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if he ever does fuck up. it happens - an unlucky chance encounter.
when he feels like he’s lost the other man in the hustle and bustle of the sidewalk, he slows down a bit, tucking the watch further into his coat pocket. he’s almost in the clear, he could feel it, only he’s stopped when he turns a corner. two familiar faces greet him, although there’s not a single trace of amusement or patience in their scowls.
ah, fuck.
“hello, boys,” haneul starts, casually side-stepping. “listen, i can’t do this right now, but rest assured, i’ll have the money within the month.” an empty promise. he could barely make enough to pay rent. he gets blocked in response, and a defeated sigh escapes him. this is harassment. he can only hope the person he stole the watch from doesn’t get to him. else, he’s trapped.
anything, anything but that watch was the only thing that rushes inside his head as jian dives into the crowd. suddenly his eyes are no longer heavy, nor his movement sluggish. he’s slipping between passerbys as well as he usually avoid stretchers rushing into ERs during accidents.
fear really does wake you up, huh.
but apparently it’s not enough because jian fucking lost the little shit. what did he look like again? he was pretty tall, right? and kind of skinny? then again almost every young male in south korea has a similar physique as him.
jian continues his search anyway, steps slowing down into a jog as he scans the entire area. there’s too many look-alikes. too many tall, bony males. too many--
his eyes wander to a rather secluded corner in the sidewalks, to whom he recognize a hundred percent as the perpetrator. bingo
immediately runs to corner the male, although caution slows down his steps at the sight of two additional faces. his thief friends? they don’t look too happy, though... crap. should he call the police?
“hey, asshole,” he calls out, although eyes still trained at the unfamiliar two. “you got my watch with you. give it back.”
