okay, here’s the thing: maybe the boy spent his whole weekend frolicking around city (karaoke bar, bowling alley, common ground, you name it– he was everywhere,) in lieu of sticking his butt on the library chair and getting this damn essay done. but to his pitiful excuse, he didn’t think it would take an entire day cycle to recover from that brutal hangover. it feels as if he can still taste the 폭탄주 at the back of his throat, the shot that served as the grand slam to his weekend blow. but better late than never, they say– so he’s here now, at the school library, currently half a corpse and sadly nothing more.
“you’re sooo stupid, dude.”
cue the head slams on the desk, and it repeats for about a good five minutes until his phone flitters with a buzz. then it takes less than a second for him to spring up from his blues and text her back at the speed of light, with a smile that’s been lost for hours.
( 8:14pm: 별이누나 ) i’ll be right outside!
half a sprint down the hallway and he sees her there, hovering over with drinks in her hands (as if her presence alone didn’t serve as a break in the clouds). he makes the rest of his steps over to her, taking the weight of the carrier in his hands instead. if the boy was a hound, then you would definitely see a tail wagging behind that tall figure of his.
“no joke, you really look like an angel to me right now– i’m about to cry.”
the corner of the girl’s lips turned upwards in response to the lit screen of her phone, pursing her lips in an attempt to keep the contagion from spreading any further. what was that? could it be that her heart rate increased a few beats per minute? of course not! she quickly slid the phone back into its place in the mouth of her small purse, hands running down the fabric of her blouse out of (nervous) habit. a quiet sigh escaped her lips, not out of discontent, but rather to... expel the sudden influx of energy that had accumulated in her nerves. just adrenaline, nothing else!
line of sight trained to the ground, his approach was only made clear by his sudden presence; a long, lean body placed only the length of a step away. she tilted her head upward, meeting his eyes for the first time that evening where she rested for only a moment, taking in the features of his face. he must be tired. her smile broke across her face fully this time, paired with a chuckle that bared resemblance to a chorus of bells getting caught in her throat.
“yeah? do i have a halo and wings in your hallucination, too?”
she didn’t let herself think too far about her next action. instead, she allowed her arm to slip between the gap of his own, linking them together in what the girl could only hope was a natural motion, urging the other back toward the entrance without allotting him the time to process her movement.
“how much work have you gotten done so far? hm?”
