A Place In The Sun - character 'a' falls in love with two other characters, 'b' and 'c'. at different times. character 'b' works at the same place as 'a' and 'a' finds comfort and solace in 'b', until he meets character 'c' - who is of high status and much more attractive, and could provide character 'a' with all that they have ever wanted. character 'b' falls pregnant, thus tying character 'a' to 'b'. he is living two lives, neither 'b' or 'c' knowing they are in love with the same person. 'a' eventually comes up with the idea of getting rid of 'b' by plotting to kill them (they die but it can be changed to anything as it all comes out in the end) eventually 'c' finds out and 'a' loses everything.
Gentleman Prefer Blondes - two friends, character's 'a' and 'b' go on a cruise ship to do with work (and leisure). character 'a', beforehand, was forbidden to be with their love due to their partners parent objection. 'a' hopes to seek solace in another person on the cruise; ending up finding comfort in a wealthy man. character 'a''s partner sends a detective to spy on them (character 'c' perhaps). the detective falls in love with character 'b' (who isn't attracted to them, at first) and finds out their plans on spying on their friend, 'a'. when the cruise gets to it's destination, character 'a' realizes what has been going on and confronts their partners parent, in the end, winning them over. happily ever after?
How To Marry A Millionaire - three friends try to find wealthy partners, thinking that wealth would make them all happy. in the end, they realize that is not the case, and along the way of finding their riches, they fall for partners who are 'beneath them' (well, their previous expectations) which humbles them. // one character in the movie goes to a cabin in the snow and falls in love with a guy working there, idk i find would be bless to rp.
Valley Of The Dolls - three characters become fast friends. they embark on careers that bring them to the heights of fame and eventual self-destruction. they all take pills to help with their struggles. character 'a' is often used for their beauty and thinks that is all they have; they takes pills to help with their depression and self loathing. character 'b' is climbing the ladder in their work and gets noticed by a person (who they eventually fall in love with) who ends up cheating on them, but they remain faithful to them. to cope with their partners infidelity, they take pills to help them to sleep. character 'c' succumbs to the pressures of their work and starts to take and mix pills to cope (uppers, to lose weight, sleeping pills & depression pills) they also drink a lot, and ends up becoming bitter and ends up going into a psychiatric hospital. they end up having an affair with character 'b's partner, upon release from the hospital, and returns to their destructive behavior. in the end, the friendship between the three fall apart. (in the movie, character 'a' commits suicide, so if you are in the mood to kill off a character, this could be a plot for you. though, obviously, you don't have to kill anyone off)
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf - a couple, 'a' and 'b' invite over another couple 'c' and 'd' to get to know them a little better. as the night unfolds, erratic behavior and energies collide, and the four of them end up going head to head, but also, sharing secrets and sorrows. two characters from opposite couples end up sleeping with one another, hurting the others. what happens in the end is in your hands (i don’t think at the end of the movie it really explains what was to become of the characters after the evening?)
Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice - the four friends, who are couples, end up sleeping with one another. couple 'a' and 'b' are more open in their relationship, in regards to being with other people, were as character 'c' and 'd' are more reserved. eventually, truth comes out that 'c' (to character 'b') has thought about having an affair before, but felt too guilty. in the end, they all travel together and end up sleeping together ('b' encouraging 'c', as it was with a friend, they wouldn't feel so guilty) but the friendship ends up being awkward.
Barefoot In The Park - a couple, character 'a' and 'b' are the polar opposite of one another. eventually, character 'a' kicks out their partner and turns their attention on trying to fix up someone close to them (character 'c' - in the film, it's their mother) to a person who lives in their apartment building (character 'd', who previously flirted with character 'a' and is friends with them) character 'b' turns to drink and ends up becoming someone person 'a' wanted them to be. they end up getting back together after 'a' realizes what they had lost.
Rebecca - character 'a' marries a fascinating widower, character 'b' only to find out that 'a' must live in the shadow of his 'b's former partner, who died mysteriously several years earlier. character 'a' must come to grips with the terrible secret of their partner and 'a' must also deal with the jealous, obsessed housekeeper (character c), who will not accept them as the new mistress/master of the house.
