Swedish based-designer Sedki Alimam has proven that IKEA man is as versatile as the furniture he helps you to assemble.
IKEA Man IKEA Man is a character design template that was inspired from Ikea’s Instructions, a symbol that has appeared around me since I moved to Sweden. In this project I’ve represented some of my favourite cartoon characters through the limits of symbol, preserving its feel and spirit.

Feeling hopeful.
After binge-watching my favorites: Charlie Lewis and @furrylittlepeach on YouTube, it has inspired me to make little fun pieces.
I know its’s been a while. But I have been making things!
Im also getting ready to go to Shillington in London. Im so excited to have made it so far. Its been quite the journey!
Got my spilts, fam! Just took two years, pain and grit. My back leg still needs work but I am ok with that.
It has been quite some time since I sketched. I’m always afraid to make something ugly. As if I’m waiting for proof that I’m not good enough. I may be rusty, but everything takes time and hard work. Maybe I should be so scared. This is by no means good to me, but I’m proud that I sat down and had fun and just followed lines and put down shadows. I’m learning more about proportions and values. This was a good place to start.
Short break at work. I am doing a little logo design course with my first grade class. I’m transferring their designs to the computer. I haven’t used paint in years or a PC. It’s always fun when there’s no pressure or expectations.
Finally having a whole day to design, draw and sketch. This is my perfect day.
Creating art can be vulnerable and it can also be therapeutic. I just need to keep pushing myself.
I don’t know what we did to deserve Mr. Rogers but I’m so glad we had him.
A street corner in Norwood, the Bronx.
Exactly where I grew up. That library in the back, Nicky’s pizza in the back (you can’t see it here). Wow. Good memories.
Finally here!
What’s YOUR story?
I have been hard on myself the past week for not creating. I took sometime to listen to what was bothering me. In that moment, I let go. I realized my fear and I thought about how to help myself through it instead of beating myself up over it.
I’m learning a lot about myself.
I created these two iPhone 6/6s wallpapers in the process. One for myself and one for my best friend ;) Its important to be inspired and focused every time you look at your phone.
Please enjoy :)
My happy place and the place I get sick of often. It’s complicated.
When you’re at a standstill, sometimes you need to arrange a fresh start.
Just took two years, and three pointe shoes. Once a goal is achieved the others start rolling in as well.
Travel, keep the routine sacred, continue. Once I get home I need to allow myself the time to recover. I have to remember that.
