You say you're an "ugly duckling" and called yourself "below average" but honestly? You can't be farther from the truth. I have an underbite myself so I found your videos, but one look at you, before or after surgery, and I couldn't stop looking. I won't tell you who I am and I hope you aren't embarrassed, but you are just... Stunning.

ummm thank you? My sense of feeling really unattractive was a lot to do with a jaw, but it also had a lot to do with gender dysphoria and general self-esteem issues.

how much did the surgery cost? and is it the only option? im broke and my parents wont allow me to fix my underbite its mad embarrasing man 😩😪

So this is me now. I go by Kai now because idk what gender is. My face is doing pretty good jaw wise. Like, braced are off, retainers are in, and it feels like the whole surgery thing never happened. Sorry for neglecting this blog. Suggestions are appreciated because Idk what to post?

I'm 4 months post op and I miss my old face it's really hard and no one gets it :/ did you ever feel like this?

To be honest, no, I absolutely hated my old face. Although for the first few months, I hated the swelling and was scared that that was the end product.

Hi, I just wanted to say how incredibly inspiring you are. I watched one of your pre-op videos and I started crying because of how bad I want my jaw surgery to come around. (I have yet to get my braces!) You're so incredibly beautiful, and I'm really happy for your whole life ahead of you now. I just wish mine could start soon!

Hi! I'm getting surgery the beginning of next month and I just can't stop thinking about it. Any advice on how to get rid of the nerves? Thanks! Xo

It is really stressful before, but just keep in mind how much it's going to boost your confidence in the long run. In the weeks leading up to my surgery, I was so ridiculously nervous that I was physically sick. I ended up just watching a lot of Adventure Time. So, my honest advice, just try to keep busy and distract yourself as much as you can. Take care of yourself, and know that it will be so incredibly worth it in the end.

I have this awful underbite and my top jaw is apparently too small to fit all my teeth so they have to remove some. Did they have to remove any of yours? and if you did, how did you deal with the insecurities of teeth missing when you smile?

I had my wisdom teeth removed to make room. I was riddled with insecurity about my teeth, but honestly it just gets better and better over time. You just have to wait it out.

I'm getting a reduction genioplasty done soon but my mum is really worried about it. She says she's worried I won't look like 'me' any more. My surgeon has said the difference will be very subtle but I can tell she's still really uncomfortable about it and it's making me stressed. I was wondering how your parents felt about it? Is there any advice you can give me to help her feel better about it?

My mum was on board, but my dad was like your family. He thought I wouldn't look like me anymore and that bothered him a lot. For me what made him change his mind was knowing that my surgery wasn't cosmetic. I had a lisp, couldn't eat properly, and felt awful about my appearance. Honestly, your parents don't always have to agree with your life decisions. However, if your mother doesn't come around, seeing your change in confidence post-op should make her change her mind.

FOUR MONTHS POST OP Officially allowed to exercise. I went for a run a few days ago and it was so dang painful. Mental health wise? They swapped my meds and I’m doing better. I’m two weeks clean I think? Which is pretty good. I feel like everything is too good and I’m about to crash, but I’ll just roll with it for now and try not to freak out. Self esteem? Not feeling fantastic about myself but a whole lot better than pre op. I’m not deformed, just below average now. I should get my braces off in about three weeks (yay!) so that’s pretty exciting. There isn’t much to say these days because everything is so normal. Any questions, people?
