Hunger Symptoms

The first stage of infection of the hunger. Black sludge is known to come from any hole/orfice of the body (ears, eyes, nose, etc). It is most common exiting from the eyes, making it appear that one is crying

What follows the discharge would be uncharacteristic aggression. The infected will have abnormal behavior, lashing out and behaving aggressively more frequently. This is the beginning of the hunger infiltrating their mind, and the beginning of driving them to insanity.

Schizophrenia will come next after abnormal aggression. By now, the hunger has a powerful presence in their mind as it eats away at their magic/essence of life. It’s presence will begin to distort the infected’s worldview, making them see and hear things that are fake. Most of the time these episodes of schizophrenia cause great distress to the infected, as it is common for them to imagine unpleasant memories that bring great anguish.

At this point the infected’s mind has been mostly corrupted by the hunger’s influence. It will now be common for episodes of violence acted upon the host. To a bystander’s eye, the infected will now appear to act like a rabid or feral animal. Untamed and unconsolable. It is very common for black discharge to increase its presence on the orifices of the face as the infected is on its rampage. If there was any hope of placating them, there is none when they are at this stage.

The final, and potentially the most horrific of all stages of the hunger. The hunger is a disease from the void that feeds off of the magic or energy of the soul, humans and monsters alike. As it feeds from within their body’s like a parasite, it will make the infected ravenous in order to compensate for what is being lost. The infected will rapidly consume anything it comes across, and soon would be competing for resources with other infectious beings. Eventually, food sources will run out and they will search for alternatives, that being cannibalism on each other.
