GOOD OMENS — "The Doomsday Option" (1.05)
Crowley | GOOD OMENS 3.01
Genuinely one of the best aziraphales I’ve ever drawn
And ofc it’s when he’s serving CUNT
I love a fic or a headcanon where Crowley is the wettest cat as much as the next person but sometimes I just need him to be an annoying little shit!!!!!
BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HE IS
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
magic trick (don’t blink or you’ll miss it) by meetmeatthecoda Fandoms: Good Omens (TV), Good Omens - Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Chapters: 3/3 (complete) Words: 10,699 Tags: No Archive Warnings Apply, Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens), Aziraphale (Good Omens), Crowley (Good Omens), God (Good Omens), Satan | Lucifer (Good Omens), Ineffable Husbands (Good Omens), He/Him Pronouns For Aziraphale (Good Omens), He/Him Pronouns For Crowley (Good Omens), Aziraphale Loves Crowley (Good Omens), (Crowley just doesn’t know it), Crowley Loves Aziraphale (Good Omens), (and Aziraphale absolutely knows it), Drama, Angst, Romance, final bookshop scene, South Downs Cottage (Good Omens), Angst with a Happy Ending, Canon Divergence, Good Omens (TV) Season 3 Fix-It, we’re fixing the OOC-ness of it all, with the help of, a kinder God, less Satan, and the bumbling magic of Fell the Marvelous, also apple symbolism, and space metaphors, naturally
Summary:
“Wait just one bloody moment…”
Dread blooms anew in Crowley’s stomach at the drawling, slimy voice of Satan.
“If I’m to agree to stay out of things, then I want some insurance,” he snarls, and Crowley feels Aziraphale suck in a breath uneasily. “I want that.”
Everyone’s gaze follows his outstretched finger to Aziraphale’s desk where, unobtrusively, there sits…
The new Book of Life.
Ta da, the magical final chapter!! 🪄 As always, this fic was inspired by this post by @gingiekittycat, & a final shout-out to my friends @fellshish & @goodomensafterdark, they're real ones 🥰 I hope anyone reading enjoys this conclusion & much love, y'all!! ❤️🩹
Hey remember when they made it a point to show how powerful their miracles are when performed together so powerful that even a tiny one could hide an arch angel from both heaven and hell
wait now i’m curious what’s everyone’s go-to pair of shoes
for all the people that are struggling to come to terms with the good omens finale and what it means for the fandom (myself included), i really really want to stress that you will not lose anything you don't want to lose because of it.
here's a list of things that are still here, that you can access anytime:
the book
the radio adaptation
season 1
season 2 (grab the bits you like and ignore the rest if necessary)
the bits of season 3 you did like (ignoring the rest may feel more difficult here but it is achievable i promise)
all the fanworks that exist already, whether they were created pre-tv adaptation, post-s1, post-s2 or post-s3
all of david and michael's interviews and other promo about the show pre-s3
the fans that are currently active in the fandom
the memories you've made in the fandom
and here's a list of things we can look forward to:
more fanworks/fanwork events, because people are still creating and will continue to do so
getting to know new good omens friends, whether they're new to the fandom or just new to you
in that vein, welcoming new fans to the fandom (it may not seem likely but new people will continue to seek us out!)
the final ineffable con and all the craziness and content that will come from that
people continuing to discover your fanworks, old and new
the moments where you'll start to feel the finale, the show in general and/or the fandom becoming easier to engage with again
most of all, aziraphale and crowley will always be there for you. i promise. i know it may feel like they're gone, but they're not, as long as we still watch them, think about them, read about them, write about them, draw them, cosplay them, talk about them... they want to be here, on earth, with all of us, and they are, i promise they are.
Ineffable mess with pencils.

When humanity stops meaning people
Ok. So every day I give birth to a new post, being sure that this one is DEFINITELY the last. And here we are. The thing is, I have been exchanging comments with people in the fandom, and they made me realize what I really dislike in the finale. Before that, I could not quite put my finger on it.
I know this will probably be a controversial take. Sorry if it is. As always, feel free to ignore it.
I realized that I hate what was done to humanity in Season 3. The real humanity, with real people behind it, was replaced by the concept of humanity with true free will ("humanity" from now on). Satan, am I clear? It replaces real, messy individuals with a kind of idealized category. This "humanity" is presented as inherently more valuable than everything else. The replacement is even literally there. People are wiped out, and "humanity" is promised in the new universe.
Season 1 celebrated humanity exactly the way I like it. You know, with all its beauty, but also its messiness and flaws, and definitely without making it superior or the only thing that matters.
Season 3 frames "humanity" as inherently more valuable than everything else. As if angels and demons are not even worth considering because they are not human, so they can simply be removed from existence. Someone could argue that angels and demons were abusers, which justifies getting rid of them, but that point did not really land for me, especially with so many likeable characters. Even in the book, demons as a whole are not framed as true abusers. Sure, there are ones like Hastur who are, but there are plenty of human versions of Hastur out there too. It is emphasized that many of the other demons are not actually interested in harming humans. They are just doing their shitty job. And one could try to make them aware that they can refuse to do it (or make me believe that they truly cannot), rather than wiping them out.
Generally, this superiority of "humanity" not only bothers me because it is completely detached from, well, humans. It can be used by very real people to justify animal cruelty, for example. Moreover, minorities and outsiders are often treated as a threat to "humanity", and then harming or excluding them from society suddenly becomes acceptable too.
[Do I really still have to write that this is just my opinion and that all opinions are valid? I’m not here for a fight. You also have the tags. You know, "anti" and "critical".] EDIT: Do you think this is a bit dependent on whether you are religious? [I am saying this without judgement.] Just a thought. I am not. I do not believe I was created in the image of God. I do not believe we were created as an exceptional species. We just evolved to be what we are now. Simultaneously, I do not believe I have an immortal soul. Wiping me out literally means that I vanish from existence and nothing is left of me. Maybe if you are religious, this hits a bit different.
so... they deserved so much better
