Hello, I am literally?? Screaming???
Compared to everywhere else, this is pretty freakin’ late, but I just wanted to let you all know
Bygone has a dub now, and it’s really cool
While I am cringing because most of the beginning pages after the intro have a very ‘eh’ art style, I’m like. Super delighted to see this become a thing. What a way to begin the new year!
Thank you so much, @undertalecomictv!
He’s Going To Do Some Gardening
I could come up with so many excuses to why I’ve been sitting on this for almost two weeks, but I’m just going to spare myself the shame and instead bring up the fact that I still have yet to go through this blog to link every ‘next’ page.

Oh Wow, Old Science
Papyrus looks absolutely tired with everything. Poor boy.

Checking For the Boogeyman?
Methinks I’ll be sticking to cell shading from here on out. Someone said in the tags that they really liked the cell shading, and using cell shading would mean less work on my end, anyway. :)
That ADHD mood where you procrastinate on something and it takes you 70% less time than you thought it would? Yeah, that was this page.

What Are You Trying To Say Bro I Don’t Undersans...
I really wanted to try to get this out before I went to another state for a few days. Just clear my conscience and all that. I love how floofy Sans' jacket is. Papyrus is trying his best to be a good brother, but he can't help but wonder sometimes... Though, there's no soft shading in this one... and there's two reasons for that: One being that Medibang crashed after I finished Papyrus' shading, and I managed to save it just in the nick of time for this to come out as it should. And two... because I wanted to try flat shading instead, so I don't have to worry about taking the extra time to blur everything out smoothly.

It's Not Like It's New Information...
Oh, dear, Frisk is coming home? How horrible! It's not old news, Sans. It’s okay, everybody forgets things from time to time.
I’m trying out a new style for Sans’ floofy floof. It looks extra floofy. Me like.
Still trying to figure out what kind of art style I like for this story, too, so it’s still going to be all over the place. I’m also going to stop updating less on a deadline and moreso update as pages are finished. This’ll let me potentially start posting multiple pages at once, which might help the flow of it. I’m not sure--I’m still trying to get used to comic set-ups.

This Was Supposed To Be For Halloween
...but Sans is late to the Area 51 raid.
Pet-pyrus
Or: The Cure for Anxiety, Apparently.
Papyrus is doing what he can to help Sans out with this nervousness and lack of ability to do much of anything about anything. What can you do for someone who didn’t actually exist, though? It’s like offering your comfort to a stranger who claims to have met you before and has known you for forever, but you don’t remember them at all. It makes it a little hard to believe that the comfort is genuine.
I’m going to take a break for the next week or two to work on thumbnails for the rest of the chapter. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it done by the end of next week and have the next few pages done by the week after next. This is what I get for being a disorganized mess, I suppose. We’ll be seeing Flowey soon.

Why Do You Punish Me Like This, Brother?
Or: If already know you can’t beat them, just join them.
I ended up having to completely re-do a couple of panels on this page on the fly, and I like how it came out a lot more than I liked it when it started.
On another note, I’m completely out of page thumbnails, and have been struggling to get myself to work on them. Thanks to this, I might have to take a break for a week or two in order to actually work on them. After next week, I don’t have any pages, and I’m completely out of buffer pages, so I think that a week or two of trying to play catch up would ultimately be for the best.
Sorry about that. I’m still trying to figure out things.
I other news: Sans In Smash? It’s less likely than you think.

TFW Your Brother’s Being Cute
Or: I don’t want to ruin your mood but--
Goddamn it, why does Sans have to look like such a sweetheart? Why do you have to make this so hard on your brother, Sans? He’s just trying to be the responsible adult in the situation.

Frick This Sense of Deja Vu
Or: Why does this page give me so many Handplates vibes? Is it the sketchy style? The desaturated colors? I don’t know, but I’m digging it.
This isn’t the first time that the memory has proven to be faulty. After all, Frisk didn’t seem to remember Sans whatsoever once they reset for the last time. It makes sense that no one else would be able to remember, either, right?
Maybe I lied last time when I said it’d take a while to get to any important plot points. After all, being scrubbed from existence for a long time only to be shoehorned back into it can’t be good for your mental health, Sans. Especially knowing that no one knew you, and those that do don’t even remember the sacrifices you made for them.

I got my fair share of reservations.
Or: What do you mean, you can't put your clothes away? The hamper's just outside your room.
I've thrown pencil shading completely out the window at this point. Don't get me wrong--I still love the pencil shading method I used for the Prologue (especially on Sans' clothes in certain panels and Page 2 of the Prologue), but... it just took so much time. So I'm trying out this method instead. Maybe at some point in the future, I'll go back to trying it out.
Now, onto the page itself. Papyrus has the classic case of Resting Bitch Face Syndrome, Sans' eyelight is glowing quite a bit despite not using any apparent magic, and there's a reference to a skeleton who seems to be completely missing from the scene... maybe said skeleton will show up at some point in the future, but at this rate, it's pretty hard to tell. There's so much more that's yet to happen, after all... and so much more story to be uncovered. It'll definitely take a while to get to any serious plot points anytime soon.

How to be a good brother
Or: Haven’t you ever heard of knocking before you enter?
I’m still trying to find a good method of shading for this comic. I’m sort of veering more towards soft shading than anything else. I love how I did the shading in the prologue, but quite frankly, it was very… time-consuming and difficult to work with. I ended up redoing this entire page and the next page with completely different thumbnails to work off of.
I’m also working on creating a side blog for Bygone specifically. I’m sort of considering whether or not it’s necessary… I think I’m going to try something else out with the links, for a change. Let me know how it works!

If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them.
Or: You can’t beat someone at their own game if they find it funny.
Trying to find a suitable way to characterize Papyrus is a bit of a difficult challenge… especially since this is probably the fourth rendition of this page that I’ve done until this. If it’s anything, though, I love how I drew and colored the house. It looks amazing.
Will reblog later with the links, because Tumblr probably eats posts with links in them for some reason.

Social Media is Incredibly Complicated
Or: Designing web layouts is difficult when you have little to no experience with graphic design.
Don’t worry, folks, Papyrus exists, and he’s just about as sweet as one can come to expect when you discover that out of nowhere you suddenly have an older brother when you’re in your mid-to-late twenties. That is to say, he has no idea how to handle it, but he’ll try his hardest, the sweetheart.
I’m trying decide whether or not I should reblog these pages on a sideblog or reblog them from a sideblog… this whole ‘Tumblr-eating-posts-when-they-have-links’ thing is incredibly aggravating.
Also Tumblr I know that I edited all of my posts in the prologue to link to the next series of pages why would you mess that up you son of a–

Or: It Takes One to Know One.
I think that since Tumblr has a habit of hiding posts that have links in them, I’ll reblog this tomorrow with the links to the pages in question.
Hey wow, I forgot to reblog this last week. Oh well! Here it is now!
