ran into my classmate at the gay clinic. he is new to chicago so he was psyched about the clinic; he told me excitedly, "I showed up yesterday for STI screening and they were able to tell me that I was all clear by today!" I did not return the vulnerability bc i did not want to disclose that i was being tested for the poop parasite rather than STIs.
[Image Description: A photo of musa swimming in the lake under heavy wildfire smoke. He floats on his back with arms and legs outstretched, wearing blue-purple swim shorts and a dark face mask. The water and air are gray-green. There are other people far in the distance standing in the water, torsos up above the waves. On the horizon is a line of trees and buildings, smudged and made extremely hazy by the smoke. The sun is a bright orange circle with a halo of darker orange, reflecting orange light on top of the waves. /end Image Description.]
We were supposed to go swimming but then the smoke ... so dan drove us to the lake and we swam for 15 minutes masked and then left. worth it! but apocalyptic out there!
changing my name to 'hated by god'
I'm Lama, 25 years old. My husband is Mohammed. We used to have a beautiful life and a home, but everything vanished 3 years ago. I apologize for asking for help this way, but I have no other option.
My husband has long suffered from various health issues; following surgery, he requires continuous, uninterrupted medication. He currently needs medication costing $250 a month—an amount that is very expensive and beyond my means to provide. Please help me buy his medication with whatever you can—$15, $25, or $50.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help cover the cost. I do not want to lose my husband! Please. 🙏😭
I just donated what I could - sharing for others to donate as well! I hope this helps. https://chuffed.org/project/122664-help-lamas-family-to-rebuild-her-life
whenever i manage to actually show up to the office on an in-office day, i am unfortunately filled with the feeling that Showing Up was my work for the day and i don't want to do anything else
I write these words with a broken heart. To those who read this and choose to ignore it, you can simply scroll past, but I am living through the most difficult moments of my life. My husband is slowly dying before my eyes. Due to a severe head and jaw injury, he has been unable to eat or drink for over a week, his weight has dropped to just 39 kilograms, and he is suffering from severe, life-threatening malnutrition.
The doctors confirmed he needs urgent surgery, but we can't afford the operation and treatment. I feel helpless watching him weaken day by day, while time is running out.💔
chuffed - Vetted#53
I'm not asking for the impossible; I'm simply asking for a chance to save his life. Please, if you can't donate, don't hesitate to share our story. It might reach someone who can give him a new lease on life.💔🙏
i cannot let myself be as sad about my birthday as i was last year. whomst will join me at the lake
by the way. finally feel comfortable posting about it - dan and ben and i are expecting a baby! Quite Soon! VERY soon in fact!
as a regular donor to Gaza Soup Kitchen I get their email updates, and they said today that while they've continued to be able to expand, donations are slowing down as Gaza gets less coverage. If you have a few dollars to spare, I encourage you to send them here to continue the amazing work that Hani and his team are doing.
have been on the phone with [insurance company] for about 3.5 hours. as far as i can tell, the document my office needs for govt compliance, which was supposed to be created by [insurance company] back in february, was never made, and it's super weird for the client to exist in the system without this document, so im confounding every agent i talk to bc they have no idea why they seem to have a client but not a client. and they don't want to admit that they were supposed to create a document but didn't of course. and i just want to shake them and say create the document now or like! soon and it's fine!! it's no big deal!! but just TELL me and let me free of this hell!
insurance companies LOVE passing you around on the phone for an hour before giving you one last final fakeout where someone says they've finally found the info you need and they're transferring you to just the right person who can use that info and then WHAM you are on hold for an extra 20-60 minutes
TMI most definitely but I HATE how my connective tissue problems make bathroom time more difficult. i HATE spending the first few hours of most of my mornings in and out of the bathroom waiting for all the poop to actually exit my body. i HATE that it hurts!!! :(
actually never mind lmao. maybe i do not want to say that yet
i unfortunately kinda bombed my immigration law final (really poor time management on my part; wrote barely anything in the 2.5 hours we had to do the test, and it's the only grade for the class, so i have been catching myself since thinking things like "what if grades aren't released yet because i did so poorly it was record breaking for the university and they're deciding what to do with me"
good news!! i got a B+!
