you can just say "person with ovaries." "an AFAB" makes literally no sense here, in addition to being grammatically nonsensical. sorry but this bleet has been pissing me off all day but i feel like if i reply to it i'll get it trouble.
a trans man who hasn't had any ovaries for 25 years isn't going to experience perimenopause in his mid-40s, so why include him based on a gender assigned to him as a baby? like... he was a baby.
like why bother acting like you want to be trans-inclusive if you're too lazy to recognize that sometimes, trans bodies aren't going to be the same as they were at birth when they got handed their baby gender
my favorite tweet ever. Every time I go to find it I’m blown away by how few retweets it has
if youre reading something and it has a mom and her (pre)teen son your meta should always be like this:
personally i do not prefer when stories engaging with complicated topics attempt to make themselves good educational resources on said complicated topics
and i understand that sometimes it's a very thin line between giving a realistic depiction of a serious topic and ending up in after-school special mode, but i also notice that no one is doing this when a character gets the flu (which kills many people every year) and PERSONALLY i don't love the patterns i'm vaguely sensing about which experiences can be depicted normally and which experiences must always be a learning opportunity
straight dudes will be arrested for prolific sexual abuse of women and girls but half the discussion of it will still end up being like "and he looks gay. his shirt looks like a womans shirt. hes dressed like a faggot."
the photomatt shit really was a turning point for a lot of people including many loudly proclained transfeminists completely giving up on pretense transfems are included in statements like "victim blaming is bad" and pivoting to asserting that every transfem on here who gets harassed and turbobanned and etc was engaging in completely sexless posting because it has been unspokenly agreed upon that any acknowledgement the transfem targetted was a kink blogger or god forbid an online sex worker is going to hurt the cause because it means that whats people are doing wont actually count as sexual harassment anymore.
This is missing the full context, which is even better/worse
"hey it feels like even amongst people who considered themselves committed to social justice and at the recent high-water-mark of that social current, it's never been fully & satisfactorily discussed digested & absorbed that trans women consistently get depicted this vile way in media"
"um people have definitely mentioned that out loud before lol you are young and therefore stupid and entitled and though i'm not saying it i'm also implying that you (trans woman) are being overly sensitive and nitpicking and nobody cares lmao"
she's obviously right. what the fuck is wrong with you people. this is funny? this is some kind of Epic Own to you? you dunk-brained shit eating peanut gallery motherfuckers are so twitter poisoned that all someone has to do is be snide, they don't even need to have a point, you'll all bark and clap like fucking seals. kill yourselves
But like, what films is she talking about
Psycho (1960) & The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dressed to Kill, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, this list is so much longer than you think it is no matter how long you think it is.
If she was so wrong why did I have to turn off a youtube video today for making jokes about a crossdresser being 'creepy like the Silence of the Lambs guy'?
Or are yall just reblogging this marvel ass 'burn' around without context?
hellish fucking day once again but tomorrow i get to go out and go to therapy and go to the store and get food .... will be worried the whole time about my mom breaking into my room? yes absolutely. am i think about trying to crawl through the window well? also yes.
they gotta invent shoplifting for online shopping
“Why do you beat yourself up so much over little mistakes?”
When the country doesn’t have easily accessible public libraries, piracy is sometimes the only option. They’ve been collaborating with the police to arrest poor street vendors and small book shop owners. Evil, just evil
I don't understand what is so difficult for pro-psych people to get about this. If you don't like suicide jokes, don't make them. If you don't like suicide jokes, talk to the people around you about maybe not doing that in your presence. If you don't like suicide jokes and you're in a space where there are many, remove yourself from that space. You literally cannot control other people and if your desire to be comfortable somehow overrides the autonomy and basic humanity of others, that's a you problem.
Exactly. Like no one's saying you have to like suicide jokes let alone make them, or that you aren't allowed to establish boundaries around the subject in your personal life, but "no one should joke about this ever" is just not a reasonable personal boundary...
Hhhate it when people on my side of an argument are making bad points. You’re literally right why are you being stupid about it
cannot understand the people who say armand is their favorite character but also “why is armand torturing people he wouldn’t do this :(” like with all due respect, are you sure you like armand
