Chris didn't tell her about Arklay or about how obviously it impacted him and his mental health, bc he didnt want her to know umbrella was bad and therefore, she'd be on their radar. He didn't want anything to happen to her so he distanced himself and kept her in the dark. But she ended up involved anyway BECAUSE SHE WAS LOOKING FOR HIM.

chris and claire seeing each other less and less often as time goes on bc they're both so busy and BOTH their jobs take them all around the world, so they sometimes only see each other like once/twice a year, which obviously makes them both sad, but they try to make the most of the time shared that they DO have

It does, however, have the unintended side effect of Claire seeing Chris once, then the immediate next time she sees him he's put on like another 25lbs of muscle, and this just keeps happening. It gets to a point where each time she sees him he's somehow STILL getting bigger and she NEVER stops making fun of him for it. Obviously it's very admirable and she's told him as such but SOMEONE has to make the jokes here and he just stands there, expression unimpressed except for the faint beginnings of a smile.

The last time she saw him before Romania, she just pulled up a picture of the michelin man on her phone and couldn't get words out for a good two minutes. Nobody finds Claire funnier than Claire herself. A close second, however, is Leon, who she sent the photo with the caption 'Chris' and Leon's only response came three days later in the form of a 46 second voice note of JUST him laughing, then wheezing, then coughing before it cut off.
