How To Finally Shift If You’ve Been Trying For 2+ Years
⚠️ Little warning before we begin: don’t get scared off! I might sound a little negative at first, but that’s not the point of this post. My goal is for you to reach the end of this and think “Oh, I’m definitely going to shift to my DR now!”
Having said that:
If you’ve been on your shifting journey for two or more years, doing methods, reprogramming your mind, consuming advice, maintaining a mental diet, manifesting, forcing assumptions, trying to create assumptions, etc, etc⏤and you still haven’t shifted your awareness to your DR, maybe it’s time to stop trying to make yourself shift.
Stop trying to shift.
Stop trying to trigger a shift.
Maybe the thing you need at this point in your journey is to stop trying to make yourself shift.
And I’ll explain why by asking you a question:
In these two, three, four, however many years of effort, don’t you think you would have shifted by now?
Think about it. You’ve oversaturated your mind with the intention to shift. You do all your methods correctly. You try to convince yourself that you're already in your DR. You feel symptoms. Sometimes you even "mini shift." And yet… you're still here. Doing the same things. Searching for advice that leads you right back to doing the same thing:
Trying to shift. Trying to trigger a shift. Trying to shift your awareness.
Trying.
Trying confidently.
Trying hopelessly.
Trying angrily.
…Trying.
If you were going to shift by inducing a shift, triggering a shift, or successfully shifting with a method, it would have happened by now.
“But Clover, I still have a lot of soul-searching and work to do! I just need to put in more effort!”
Awesome! Then click away, because this advice isn’t for you. I’m not talking to you.
I’m talking to the person who is tired. Who is drained. Who, despite applying all the sage advice on the internet, is just burnt out from the process of shifting.
And if that sounds like you, let me repeat: Maybe you need to stop actively trying to shift.
Your work is done. And that’s a good thing.
You’ve spent years ingraining the idea of shifting into your subconscious. You’ve impressed the intention to shift so deeply that it’s already there. Congratulations! You did all the mental work. It’s done.
Your DR is already yours. You already have the ability to shift.
So stop trying to trigger it. Stop trying to make yourself shift.
Let go of the “making yourself shift” process.
“Oh my god, she’s going to tell me to take a break.”
LMAO you thought.
Yes, breaks are excellent. They help reset and recharge your mindset. I always encourage taking breaks if you need them. But let’s be honest. Sometimes, even the thought of taking a break feels just as mentally exhausting as staying on your shifting journey.
“Oh no, she’s going to tell me to do nothing at all.”
Once again, you thought.
Instead, you’re going to capitalize on the fact that you’ve already done all this work. The intention to shift is always, always, always in your mind. Your subconscious knows you want to shift. Just like it knows how to shift your awareness.
So, the next time you lay down to do your shifting process...
Instead of trying to shift…
Instead of trying to induce a shift, induce the void, or force an outcome…
Give yourself exactly what you want.
Give yourself the feeling of being in your DR.
Drop the conscious, active intention to shift because your subconscious already has it covered. You don’t need to keep hammering it in. Instead, focus on inducing the emotions you would feel if you were in your DR.
Imagine waking up in your DR. Imagine being there. Imagine spending time with your DR friends, your S/O, whatever makes you happiest. Personally, I lean toward wake-up scenarios. You can listen to music, meditate, visualize, even do a shifting method if you enjoy it—but instead of doing it with the intention to shift, you’re doing it just to give your body and mind the feeling of being there. The happiness, the calm, the excitement, whatever it is for you.
This does not mean you’re lying there thinking, “Okay, this is going to make me shift.”
No. No, no, no, no, no.
Drop the idea of shifting entirely. That process is done.
And I’ll say it one more time:
If you were going to shift by inducing a shift, making yourself shift, or triggering a shift, it would have happened already.
So let it go. Drop it.
Induce the emotions of being in your DR, and then let go. Once you do that, go to sleep. Or go about your day. That’s it.
So why does this actually make you shift?
Because feeling is the language of the subconscious.
Think about it: The moments in your life that shaped you the most weren’t just things you thought. They were things you felt deeply. Joy, fear, excitement, grief. Emotions imprint on the subconscious. That’s why certain smells, songs, or places instantly bring back vivid memories. Because your subconscious records experiences based on emotions, not logic.
So when you stop trying to shift and instead just focus on feeling like you’re in your DR, your subconscious responds by aligning your awareness to match that emotional state.
Because to the subconscious, there’s no difference between imagination and reality. When you visualize something vividly enough, your brain fires the same neurons as if you were actually experiencing it. Athletes use this trick to enhance performance. Musicians use it to refine their skills. And guess what? It works for shifting too.
When you let go of the effort and just immerse yourself in the emotions of already being there, you bypass the resistance that trying creates.
And that’s when the shift happens.
It happens because you stopped forcing it.
It happens because your subconscious already knows how to shift, you just needed to get out of its way.
So, again, drop the struggle. Drop the effort. Stop trying to shift.
The more precise or perfect you want the shift to be, the more pressure you put on yourself. Your brain rebels against that because rigid control drains energy.
Remember this:
High Emotion + Low Attachment = Flow.
When you feel something strongly but aren’t clinging to the result, your subconscious has room to act. This is why sometimes, when you care less or focus on something in a passing, emotional way, it manifests easily.
This is why people can give up on shifting entirely and shift. This is why people let go of the need to shift and shift. This is why you shift without meaning to.
You: “No, I can’t do this! I need to keep trying to shift or else my subconscious will think I don’t want to shift anymore!”

the original vampires , predominately known as the original children of the night , are extraordinarily powerful vampires : the first generation of their kind and the progenitors of their respective bloodlines . they're said to be the oldest , fastest , strongest and most powerful vampires that walk the earth. several characteristics differentiate an original vampire from the bloodline they begat , but the fundamental difference is the originals became vampires through a spell . unlike non-original vampires , originals are indestructible and cannot be killed by anything on earth aside from the white oak stake , a large enough source of magic , or the conditions suitable to reverse the original spell that turned them into the very creatures they are today . they can be temporarily neutralized by a dagger dipped in the ash of the very white oak tree that helped create them , one of the cursed stakes , or through various spells or rituals.
the creation of the original children of the sun ( the children of the night , as they're now called) dates back a millennia. witches created them to protect the human race from witches corrupted by the temptations of dark magic and from anything else that could potentially cause them a great deal of harm . they ere made to be stronger , faster and more agile than anything that had ever existed before . their upper canines would extend to a point. they stand as the first creation of witches as they were created before the fae ( the children of the sun ) or the werewolves ( the children of the moon ).

the true vampires.
vampires , the progenitors of the original children of the night , are magically reanimated corpses inhabited by the spirit of the deceased person . they closely resemble the living human they were before their transformation . vampires feed and survive on the blood of the living , while it is typically human blood , vampires can also feed on other living creatures such as animals to sustain themselves . much like their progenitors , they can transform other humans into more of their kind by sharing their own blood with them before their death . once transformed , the human becomes a vampire and apart of the sire line of whoever their progenitor is . vampires are one of the known supernatural species created by witches , albeit through the creation of their progenitors ( the original children of the night ) . while they're not as strong , fast , or agile as their progenitors , they're still considerably more powerful than the fae in all of these aspects .

a millennium ago , magic was woven into the fabric of the world . across every land and kingdom , people would live surrounded by wonder and life , where magical humans would share their extraordinary gifts with all of mankind.
they were called the children of the earth . the most common term today would be witches.
no one knows exactly how the children of the earth came to be but many had their theories . some believed they were pure souls blessed by the spirits beyond the veil . others called them demons who weld abilities gifted from the underworld.
the children of the earth were known as defenders and protectors of human kind , animals and all of natures gifts . at the time , the human race accepted them with little reluctance , seeing them as part of the world that held both beauty and purity .
as time passed , humans had began to witness the full extent of what witches could do : the raw power they seemed to possess , the dangerous ways that the darkest of corruptions could twist that power . stories began to spread throughout the lands and kingdoms of tales warning that the children of the earth could become the very being to end the human race.
thus began the first wave of humans turning against the witches . as the tides of harmony shifted , the witches realized they could not longer live peacefully among humans as they once had . but they also knew they could not hide away from the very beings they had sworn to protect .
connected to the land , to nature and the veil itself , the witches sought guidance from the spirits and ancestors . when the spirits spoke from beyond the veil , they whispered a dire warning : " soon , human would no longer welcome witches with open arms . they would be cast out , brand as demons in twisted tales . stories would spread through the lands that witches stole children from their homes ( children deemed "bad" ). " along with other , far worse accusations . to prevent the chaos that would follow , the witches would need a new creation to protect humans from any harm that might come , whether at the hands of the corrupted witches or something far darker.
the spirits of the veil told the witches to create the protectors of men and told them how . they would be faster , stronger , more ethereal than anything that had previously existed . they would come to be known as the children of the sun . the witches , who had always sworn to help and protect humanity , agreed and complied with the will of the spirits . they sound out the humans who still believed in the good the witches held and chose them to become the first of the sun children.
the spirts had foretold the witches that creating the children of the sun would demand a price ; the life of every human who agreed to the transformation . despite the grim prophecy , the hand picked humans accepted their fate .
the witches had gathered their ingredients and began the ritual . they called upon the sun for life , an ancient white oak tree ( one of nature's eternal objects ) for immortality , and witch's blood from a number of witches for its magical properties , along with various of herbs and a sword . the witches offered the humans wine laced with blood and herbs then drove a sword through each of their hearts , the blade coated in ash from the old white oak tree.
when the humans awoke , everything seemed fine . they had felt more alive than they ever have before , as if they'd awakened something primal deep within them . but when the next day came and went , the children of the sun grew ravenous with hunger. this was an unforeseen consequence of the spell . thus lead to the massacre of humans that completed transformation of the children of the sun . it was learned then they held a craving for blood . while most of the chosen ones surrendered to the temptation of their hunger , three fought against it and perished, leaving their transformation unfinished .
from that moment on , the children of the sun took on a new name : the children of the night . true vampires.
a four day uproar , a frenzy of bloodshed erupted . these strong , fast , nearly indestructible beings wreaked havoc on the very people they'd been created to protect . the witches believed they had failed. recognizing the danger they had unleashed , they knew the children of the night had to be stopped . before that had been possible , the true vampires learned of their weaknesses quickly and fled . they had been foretold as the original vampires : the first undead creatures . the children of the night earned their name from the curse that had been put on them . they couldn't step into the sun without burning . they became something that people feared , creatures the witches had been powerless to stop. ( centuries have passed , the children of the night has sired more of their kind , keeping their existence hidden they have been adapting to the changing world so they would never be discovered. m.e.s)
after the catastrophe that was the creation of the children of the night , the witches called upon the spirits once more . this time , having learned from their mistakes , they were granted the knowledge to create the truce children of the sun . these new being wouldn't be as strong or fast as the children of the night , but they would be nearly indestructible . some of these nearly indestructible beings would hold gifts, and those with gifts would be considered the chosen ones : destined to become the protectors of all life on earth . ( funny how the tables have turned b.v.s )
only a handful of human groups were willing to participate as the faith in the witches had reached an all time low . the few who volunteered would become the perfected versions of the children of the sun.
their creation differed from the children of the night . it still contained the witches' blood , however , venom from atheris squamigera ( the variable bush viper . this really explains a lot. b.v.s) , and various of herbs had been used . the witches also called upon the sun for life once more . unlike the children of the night , these new being were more than praised by the humans . they were beautiful , so beautiful that the humans were enchanted by them at first glance . their skin would sparkle in the sunlight , a symbol of beauty and glory . their silvery-purple eyes marked their purity.
they were enchanting.
the children of the earth called them fae: fata diurnal , which roughly translated to "day fairy."
but as time passed , the witches began to realize the flaw in their creation . the children of the sun seemed to be starving . their pure silvery-purple eyes would become black like coal and nothing the witches had offered them seemed to help.
until a nightmare repeated itself.
a sun child , ravenous with hunger , attacked a human village and slaughtered everyone in sigh . the witches recognized the craving immediately . it was the same hunger the children of the night held .
the craving for blood.
when they fed , their black as coal eyes turned crimson , stained by the blood they took from the very beings they had been created to protect . some sun children who still swore to protect human kind refused to feed on humans and resorted to hunting animals instead . their eyes turned golden to mark their compassion for humanity .
the witches had failed twice . humans had begun to push further from them than they ever before . even with the golden-eyed at their side , the spirits knew that had made a grace mistake when they had told the witches hoow to create the second version of the sun children . they knew these creatures had to be destroyed , but the red-eyed chosen ones fought fiercely against them, making it nearly impossible to fix the wrong they had done.
this caused the children of the sun , the fae , to become known as vampires . but unlike the true vampires who fled and blended into the shadows , the fae refused to hide at first.
the witches knew they couldn't defeat them , so the sprits had whispered to them the ways to destroy them ; rip apart the body and reduce them to nothing but ash.
the witches set out to undo their mistake , but the sun children had already found a way to spread their disease through humanity and keep their number high , just as the true vampires had done before them.
the witches soon realized they couldn't defeat the sun children on their own , not with how powerful they had become . so they gathered the golden-eyes to protect humanity to the best of their ability .
many moons of silence had passed before the spirits of the veil had whispered to the witches again , offering a way to create something that could kill the sun children and keep the humans safe.
given how their past two creations had ended in bloodlust and tragedy , the witches had hesitated at first, but they agreed to the spirits' will once more.
the children of the moon were born . the werewolves.
they differed from the previous creations in crucial ways . yes , they were sworn to protect humans , but they were also bound to the witches who created them . sworn to keep them just as safe . unlike the children of the sun , the witches kept the children of the moon hidden , shielding them from humanity to prevent humanity from destroying them out of fear. the wolves became the natural enemy of both the children of the sun and the hidden children of the night . balance had been restored at last.
as time passed, some sun children began to retreat into hiding . witches were able to practice their magic more openly again . humans began to trust them a little more , believing the sun children were dying out .
slowly and steadily , witches and humans began to live in harmony once more .
that was until the volturi kings came to power . they knew the witches held the means to destroy the sun children , so they hunted them down alongside the werewolves , using the force of the chosen ones . witches fled into hiding . werewolves slowly began to disappear.
with each witch caught , the volturi realized something dire . witch blood was enticing to the fae who called themselves vampires. it was addictive even , thanks to its magical properties .
it wasn't long before werewolves became extinct or were thought to be . truth be told , they'd been hiding in the brightest places . witches became an extreme rarity , also thought extinct by the volturi .
the volturi spread stories of how witches were weak creatures who couldn't protect themselves or others and soon died out . humans began to believe witches didn't exist , that they were simply fairy tales and folklore along with the children of the night and the children of the sun , who had been force away from humanity and made to keep their existence a secret.
to avoid being killed , the witches who survived practiced only in sacred locations , unheard and unseen by the children of the sun . soon , magic seemed to almost exist in the world around them.
as a last attempt to fix the demons they had unleashed on the earth , natures biggest regret , the sun children. the witches spread a little touch of magic in different areas around the world to protect humans from the dangers they had created.
throughout history , the children of the suns' name had been twisted and reshaped repeatedly . they were no longer recognized as the fae. no , theyw ere now known as the true children of the night , blood suckers , leeches , but most commonly , vampires.
but those witches whole held grimores passed down in their families knew better . they knew these creatures were not the true children of the night . the real children of the night were unknown by the mass majority of the fae who stole their name ; a select few of the volturi knew of their existence but kept it hidden to maintain their control.
the true children of the night had found the witches , and thought the witches had ben reluctant , they graced them with items , rings and such , that had been blessed by daylight to allow them to walk in daylight like normal human beings.
the fae creatures ; the children of the sun , became the vampires . the legends , lore and tales we know today . stories of their creation , vulnerabilities , and appearances twisted over time . tale of how they burn in the bright sunlight were stolen from the true children of the night . how mirrors can't capture their reflection. garlic weakens them and holy water scorches their skin. ( bull face lie that continues to make me giggle . b.v.s ) .
everything tied to magic became a myth in the eyes of humanity . magic grew scarce as the world fell to rely on machines , technology and advancements that made it seem unnecessary.
the children of the moon were believed to be extinct , or nearly so . the children of the earth were thought to be gone too , but they had simply adapted , learning to hide and lay low . witches turned away from humans for good , protecting and shielding themselves just as humans had done once before . shapeshifted , these who carry the spirits of the warriors and take the form of wolves, assumed a similar duty to the children of the moon . witches remain sacred to them all .
witches' magic began to fade from the world's memory , reduced to a simple thing humans merely called themselves and practiced.
hi !! so this took me like.. 2? 3 hours? i had to go through and do alot of grammar correcting and make sure it actually made sense!! when i originally made my twilight reality , i had the idea of the concept of incorporating things from the vampire diaries for witches and vampires and werewolves from both teen wolf and the vampire diaries . the twilight vampires are the fae in my reality because to me i still 100% believe they are based more off of the fae rather than actual vampires . i kinda wanted to make it look like we were reading something from my grimorie ? the m.e.s is my ancestor Millicent swan written and the the b.v.s would be me adding in my two cents to everything . this would be like the opening like first few pages . this is about 13 k words according to the note pad on my laptop . i did take inspiration for some of this from a fan fiction i was shown like 6 to 7 months ago . forgive me i do not remember the name of it as i do not go on ao3 very much . my hands hurt from writing this . i wrote it out twice to fix everything i wanted to fix . 😭 i would love to share more about this dr . its one of my main ones.
