Hi. Just dropping by to say a few things.

Sorry, for one, that I am not around. Things are busy, and my mind is cluttered not with the ideas and motivation for this muse, but rather it is filled with my priorities and other means of relaxation. College has arrived, and so has the need to look for a job, and Jackson simply is not in my mind, though I wish he was.

I'm sorry that my absence has lead to a major decrease in those who have followed me, and I am sorry that the threads that still sit in my drafts are falling through my fingers like sand though I need watered hands to make any shape with them. I apologize greatly to those I had interacted with; I truly do appreciate you despite my lack of presence. 

For now, until I find my purpose for this muse, I will officially be on hiatus.

Live your lives peacefully. I will be doing the same with mine.

Work had taken a toll on Jackson. It had been a month of recuperating from not having work, thought it was filled with meeting new people, strengthening bonds, and the like. The moment he needed to get back in the habit of working, his skills for balancing all of what he had gained needed to be oiled. 

His concentration needed to be back on his hands and his stamina, though one hand kept reaching for the phone and his mind was on what he'd do once he had free time again. His need for resistance affected his work in a way that made his stomach sink at just the thought. He wouldn't let himself lose his previous tenacity for the job just because he had some friends he wanted to be with. 

Yet, at the end of the day, his desire for socializing was drowned out by the idea he didn't need it. It was a case of denial, and to cope with what he would in the end admit or not, he took to the streets, and immersed himself in the deepening night. 

What went from late-night food vendors to the smell of poor sewage, he was soon smelling what was carried in on the breeze from the body of water he found himself at. It was refreshing, and it got him thinking. Home, this home, family, new friends, the unknown... Multiple thoughts circulated in his brain until he took his eyes off his walking feet, the sidewalk a blur in the background. Gazing out, a figure he could swear he recognized was not far, and he approached to get a better look, now knowing who it was, and a look of concern spread across his features.

"Me? Just...taking a walk, I suppose. Trying to clear my mind. How about yourself? You're looking kind of...tense," he commented, crouching down with his arms hanging out over his knees. "It's been a while, but...what's new?"

She laughed and nodded, “Well my manager is just as lazy as I am so she taught me how to do these to get the same effect as crunches without all the effort.”

He laughed momentarily, sitting up for a breather so he could better look at the female. "That's pretty nice of her. Other than myself, if someone told me to try something new, I'd be like, 'don't tire me out!'"

Slow person… /she spoke to her phone as if he could actually hear her through his own, tossing the phone back to it’s original spot on the floor, she turned her attention back to the movies only to jump up when the door bell rang/ Yay~ /she ran up to the door and hugged him tightly/ Jackson~!

"It depends on the vampire what would happen to the human. A pureblood’s blood is too much for the human system to take; you die almost immediately and the turning process takes a couple minutes compared to hours. Mine is diluted a bit but I was still ‘born’ of a pureblood so it would still kill you. Lower ranking vampires would only heal you but given enough or too late, you’ll die." She pursed her lips and hummed. "It also depends on the vampire when it comes to feeding. Humans would be able to go about their normal lives if bitten by a lower vampire. The higher the vampire is in ranks, the more crazier their bitten humans get. Kind of like Dracula and Renfield. That’s the best way to describe it."

Her expression turned sad for a moment as she thought about the rest of the question. Never trust a human with your heart. A ghost of her past reminded her. Bae shook her head to wipe away that memory. Now’s not the time for that. “I’d run away if they didn’t know. Who wants to be told that the girl they are fond of is a monster?” Making a displeased noise, she shook her head again. “Even if they did know and was okay with it, I’d still run away. I’d have to watch them grow old and die or kill them and turn them. I don’t even like being a vampire. How am I supposed to turn someone I love into one? What if I hurt them on accident?” Shaking her head for a third time, she sighed. “Nope. No humans either. I’m fine without being in love.”

Her words hit him like a brick. The seriousness laced in her thoughts came with the feeling that she's already thought about long and hard. Although her explanations on the blood transfers had him feeling like he was in a lecture, taking mental notes, it was her opinions and theories on her relationships with a human that had him twisting his mouth to the side with his mouth twisting to the side. He felt bad for asking. 

"You know... I can't tell you how to feel, and you know yourself better than anyone. The same goes for me, too, but I know you're a monster and I don't hate you. You're just like anyone else, at least on the inside," he says with a smile, peering over at her. "I like you. You're a swell gal, and even when I'm eighty, you'll still be my most beautiful friend."

Ronnie shrugged lightly and smiled. “So? I’m just watching to take notes, Bud.” She laughed but didn’t stand too close to the taller in the case he didn’t like when people watched right over his shoulder. “Hm? Music? I like all kinds of music—well.. Not country. I only like, maybe a couple country songs. I like to dance to hip hop and mostly because of work, though It’s not my favorite.I think I like ballads the best.” She nods and smiles at the other again. “What about you?”

He put a timer on the microwave as he let the noodles boil up, and he faced the other with a twist to his mouth, nodding at the end of hearing her preference. Smiling, he took in a deep breath, taking his phone and turning it down a bit as he sorted through the different songs he had stored. "I listen to whatever. Doesn't matter what genre as long as I like it, really. I don't care what language it's in, and I don't care if it's old or new. One thing I do know is that I've never really gotten into indie music. And stuff with...I don't know how to describe it, but music with a lack of instruments doesn't sit well in my ears," he commented with a funny look on his face, tilting his head this way and that. "By the way, have I asked you what your school life was like? I can't remember if I did or not."

The month is coming to an end, and it's happened faster than I thought. I guess that's what happens when you work hard, he wrote down with a chuckle before looking up, checking his laptop's screen with an episode of a show having loaded half-way.

The truth is, that despite working hard, at least for the most part, he had become down in his work. Having detached his personal life from it for so long, the sudden hit of trying to multitask everything threw him for a loop, and he was odd on the job. His  boss took notice, and instructed him to take a few days off until he'd figure out how to balance everything, mostly in his mind. Accepting the suggestion, he let himself wallow at home without pay, much to what he deserved.

I question my worth sometimes.

Was making friends really the right choice?

What am I doing with my life?

Should I just go back home?

He stared at the words, a sinking feeling going through him as he tried to figure out why he was writing them in the first place. It shouldn't have mattered. Everything he was thinking didn't matter. He crossed them out, ripping the paper from its spine and crumpling it up until he stood and threw it away.

A shower offered a sanctuary he didn't think would work before, but after seeing his filthy state in the mirror, he knew he needed to wash himself clean of his doubts, of his worries. The behavior was abnormal and uncommon for him, but he would not let it beat him up. He was better than that, and he vowed to correct himself as the water would dry on his skin.
