Heat seeping through the front wind shield, we sped down the 10 E towards gated homes of Palm Springs. Breathtakingly beautiful we laid poolside, the beating sun accompanying our yellowed coronas and green bowls taking us higher to the sky. Time past to tanner skin as we sat in a circle on the golf course. Looking into the face of a new friend I pulled the small packet of blue pills from my flowered shirt, stamped with mac logos, and handed them out. Waiting palms accepted and chemicals bubbled on my tongue washing down with lime’d corona. Her first time, her talking quickened and the music seemed louder in the living room. Sun setting we ran on the empty fairway, running through sand traps and laying on the grass gazing at the full moon talking about things only our drugged mind would let us.
