TBT to Motohunt 2014!
UNSW Motorcycle Club Official Hoodie
It’s getting cold again and that means its time to order another batch of hoodies to keep our members warm over the Stuvac and Sem 2.
Each hoodie is $50 and can be purchased from the “SHOP” link on the club website www.unswmc.com.
It would be great to get the order placed before Stuvac BUT we need to fill at least 50 hoodies to place the order.
Sizing and payment options can be found online. Please include your full name, address and contact number in the paypal “details” section. Shipping is $10. Pick up is available from UNSW Main Campus, if you want to pick-up select any country other than Australia so we know you don’t want it shipped and you won’t be charged the extra $10 shipping fee.
Cheers and stay warm!

Eastern Suburbs Ride
Friday, April 10th
UNSW Law Library @ 18:00
Hey everyone, I'm Andre, self-appointed honorary member of the club :D Gonna cut to the chase... this ride's been organised to remind members what the club's about, that is Motorcycle riding and bringing like-minded riders together. I don't care what you ride, different strokes for different folks. I do care if you ride with us, you respect other road users around you and not in a manner that would paint not only the club negatively but the motorcycle riding community. Will say this now, if you ride like a 'peacock', I insist you stay home and catch up on studies. We're riding through the Eastern Suburbs. There'll be stops to chat, grab food/drink and take photos etc. If you've joined UNSWMC but have yet tojoin us for a ride, this is the perfect trip to be a part of... meet other club members, meet the guys from the Executive Team; if we're lucky the Executive Juice Director might turn up (for once). Meet: Bike parking near Law Faculty Building, Time: 6pm, depart 6:30pm, Map: https://goo.gl/maps/VJBpB Regroup points (in this order): 1. La Perouse, 2. Beach Burrito Bondi (dinner), 3. Harry's Woolloomooloo, 4. Blues Point (Photo op), 5. Blues Point Hotel (drinks) Marking will occur where safe, however, read the map and understand where the ride is going. If you take a wrong turn or get lost, meet at the next regroup point. Update the event page wall if this occurs to help with the head count. I'll lead the pack, please advise if you're interested corner marking or running sweep at the back. There'll be no fuel stops, so you know what to do beforehand. Look forward to meeting some new faces and catching up with the old ones :)

Forget exams, just ride
Hey guys, our President heading off on exchange at the end of this month so this will be a good chance to ride with all you guys before he jets. Plus I think most exams should be done by then so good chance to blow off some steam and get into the holiday mode. This one will be a long ride but we will take it easy so riders of all levels should definitely come!

Breakdown in Woytopia
After a sequence of slow start ups in the previous weeks, the bike stubbornly stayed asleep on the side of the road opposite the beach at around 11:30pm. Giving up soon, I was disturbing the neighbours usual beach waves with kick start clicking. A jogger running by came over to see if he could help and at first we were cautious because well…woy woy, but we realised quickly that he knew what he was talking about.
Being a rider for 6 years, he tried helping with getting it going and even trying to hill/clutch starts (which I didn’t even know was a thing) to no prevail. Not only did this champion help out and give tonnes of advice out of the blue (Apparently Suzukis are the way to go). But we backed his jogging route to his house where he was going to give me a lift home. I havn’t been a pillion for a long time, and this bike was very different to mine.
Hopping on the back of his Suzuki GSXR we took the back streets through Umina to get up to Woy Woy road. I couldn’t see the speedo until I shifted slightly but the acceleration on this thing was nuts. I could almost say I was worried if I didn’t have a huge grin on my face the whole time. I know from my bike sometimes it feels you’re going a lot slower than you actually are, there was no way this was hitting 120 that quickly. Woy Woy road at night was great, solid corners, that synchronized shoulder look to check cars, got home in no time.
Didn’t know how to thank him, but he mentioned he was in the Newcastle Uni MC and now he was a UNSWMC card, and in case he finds this, thanks to the night champion of Umina - didn’t see that experience coming.

Sunday 26th of October UNSWMC went Paintbaaaallll on what was probably the hottest day known to man. We braved the heat though just so we could shoot our mates in the groin. Despite the multiple nutshots, it was the best fun anyone can have with two layers of clothes on. This will definitely become a recurring event!
