it was one of those rare get togethers between classes, something that didn’t usually happen but once it did it was hard to get people to stop talking. jun was currently sitting next to a girl named.... uraraka? and her classmate, whose name she couldn’t remember but had weird legs that seemed to make him faster. they were talking about something when a laugh-inducer quirk in her class popped a joke. everyone laughed, including her. except.... her laughter caused the ceiling light to explode, directly on top of her. she startled, trying to cover herself with her hands, as a classmate scoffed and said, “there goes jun with her uncontrolled quirk again.”

                there were times where her firendship with nova may have been seen as cute, or even maybe helpful for eachother. well this was not one of those times. see, they had decided that maybe a sleepover where they tried out their baking skills was needed. now they stood in a mess of flour, in jun’s kitchen. anxiety kicked in, her mom was going to kill her! but then she took a couple of deep breaths and signed to nova, “looks like we’ve been whitewashed.”

shocked hues looked up at nova, a painstakingly cute grin placing itself upon her cheeks. she looked to the bird shaped charm and back at her friend, enjoying the symbolism hidden deep within the present. the true meaning. it reminded her of the time she and nova confessed how they felt about certain things. well, jun mostly did the conversing, nova listened. its funny how something so small and trivial can be remembered by a friend if they really care about you. fingers coming out to sign, the smile on her face softened, “thank you for remembering.”

at the time, juns unspoken words had hung fresh in the air, “sometimes i wish i had wings, so i could fly away like a bird. maybe i’ll get a pet bird and dream adventures with it.” now she had her bird. its time to start the adventure.

                           she had been working on her triple axel for approximately three days now, eyelashes fluttering in a show of how tired she was. while it was a good thing to think through what you were doing, jun liked to throw herself in carelessly, which was her blessing and curse. issues that seemed to be solvable easily would be met with the same reaction over and over again. throwing herself immediately into another triple axel, she popped it and instead took it down to a double. her mental stability was a huge proponent in how she was able to do things, and it seemed that right now she just wasn’t feeling it. 

many people have stated when shes in the right mindset shes a-shooing for gold, but she gets nervous, always, and shes lucky to land on the podium. the fact that christophe giacometti saw potential in her in the first place is laughable, really, and as she just sits there on the ground of the ice, she feels herself getting cold and possible, just maybe, she hears her coach saying her name. shes not sure, really. when her mind drifts, it goes to inescapable places.
