Lumeise had a rather abusive && competitive trainer, someone who wanted to push him to his limits so that they could win plenty of battles during tournaments. Because of this, he’s been emotionally && mentally scarred from a young age. When he was still a noibat, his trainer went as far as to to throw him off a cliff to try && get him to fly . . .
this is what sprouted his fear of heights— as well as to why he refuses to learn how to fly.
in terms of his OCD && neurotic behavior; it stemmed from neglect soon after he was forced to evolve. Being a noivern that doesn’t fly— it was easy to label lumeise as useless. even with his alternative moveset, it was clear his owner didn’t want a flightless dragon on his competitive team . . .
So he was left— alone. normally— within the waiting area/locker room for trainers && their teams; as he was forced to watch his trainer battle with other pokemon. holding the resentment he had, Lumeise would soon refuse to even bat an eye or whatever his trainer was doing && would rather focus on literally ANYTHING else in the world . . .
This lead to him hyper focusing on anything around the area. Usually, when waiting in the waiting areas, he would make note of how many chairs there were, what numbers were on the lockers, were there any stray shoes, or trinkets laying around on the floor.
It became a distraction— well it was the only distraction he had at the time.
As months would pass, he would become familiar with this space in-particular— as anytime there was a tournament, his trainer was present.
it got to the point where if something WAS out of place, he would need to arrange it in such a way that it became ‘proper’ in his mind.
Soon enough, his trainer finally came to terms with his ‘uselessness’ && abandoned him one night.
