What’s coming after that was even worse for little Kurapika to hear. Someting he never expected before. Just hearing the stories of what his future self saw just make him scared. He loved his family so much to the point that he doesn’t care about the concequences of his behavior. He couldn’t imagine to lost his dearest people in his life. Litttle Kurapika was trembling too. He wanted to close his ears so much, avoiding to hear more about his future. But his dad wraped his hand around him to tell him that this is the reality he had to face, so he tried to face it as long as he can.Beside, the chain user has begged them to hear him properly.

It wasn’t easy for the rat to confess this story, and it wasn’t easy either for them to accept, to imagine the harsh reality. His mom was aware so much about the rat’s feelings. She could see it, and the bond between them won’t lie. Its was clear now, for ther, the reason behind the rat’s power. It hurts her too, to see his sun in sorrow that she couldn’t held her tears anymore. The zodiac kneeled in front of her, swearing to them, as if he’s their little son. Of course little kurapika was aware of that. The chain user was trying to protect him, and make his future even more brighter, at all cost.

With his teary eyes, little kurapika hugged his future self so tight, and finally burst in tears.”Thank you so much…. Thank you so much…” he said while crying. His little self was only as tall as the chain user who kneeled in front of him. His little arm wraped around the rat’s neck. So tight. What makes him even more emotional is that, it’s just like what Pairo predicted, and it was all his fault. He was so grateful that his future self sacrificed himself to go back to the past to do all of this.

“You’ve done a lot of amazing things, you achieved great things, even up till now. everything you’ve done, It makes me proud, I’m the proudest mom alive. When all the villagers were against your dream of going outside the world, I was the one who’ll cheer you and support you. I am forever your ally. It was my wish too that you could go outside and change the clan.” she confessed her feelings too towards his adult son.

Pairo could say nothing and let them getting things done.

He let his little self to hug him tight, as he hug him back and patted his head. The hunter couldn’t control his tears anymore. It’s hard to control his feeling, to maintain calm in this situation. What an unlucky little boy, if he had to experience the nightmare that always came into his mind every times he dreamed of his family, the cold night and unfamiliar place to go. It was a minute passed before he managed to get a hold of himself again. He wiped his own tears as long as the kid’s tears. “It’s not me, mom.. it’s him you should proud of. He had a bright future within him.” He never liked to be excessively praised.

 “You’ll be able to have your own adventure too.. you want me to change the stereotype of this clan right? I do. But i’m just opening the door. How long the door is gonna open for you guys is how long you maintain the ability of the clan. As long as you can fight, then the longest you’ll have the freedom.” he said to both of his parents. Then, his eyes went to his little self. 

“Be a Hunter 5 years from now, you’ll found a loyal friends. Let your names up to the air. Show them what you have, show them all that you aren’t a monster with those scarlet eyes. Show them your kindness, be a friend with so much people around the world. Show them your power, don’t let them put you down. That way, everyone will think twice to ever attack a Kuruta. Our story might be different from now on,but always remember that you always have lo behave properly, because  member could be a danger to oneself or another.” he patted his head. 

“I’m sorry that i just told you all a sore story... and thank you for accepting me once again. Thank you for reminding me how it feels to have a family.” he smiled, didn’t want to let this sadness last forever. “We still have three months to improving... please take this matter as a note in your mind but don’t get stressed by it. As long as i’m here, i’ll tried my best to make sure everyone will be fine and the massacre will never happen right in front our eyes.”

Kurapika’s family didn’t say and ask anything the moment he stopped confessing. They’re aware that it’s not easy to say those things, so they just let the blond talks whatever he wants, without burdening him with questions. But of course, they have some question like; why does pairo come with him, if he’s the only one survived.

“I think I need to make something clear too. As Kurapika said, he’s the only one who survived. This might be a spoiler for little Kurapika, but I’m sure the history have changed from the moment we arrived here. In short I am not survived, I died. 5 years later after the massacre, Kurapika took the hunter exam and meet some friends along the way. They’re a really good friends, I hope we didn’t ruin the timeline tho.”

“One of them have a sister who’s able to bring back the dead. And so, Kurapika brought me back to live. It’s also cleared the confusion of why I looked pretty much the same with this time’s pairo, physically.” He explained. He’s aware that it’s hard for Kurapika to tell them the whole truth, but he think, they need to know, so it would strenghten their determination to protect the village too.

“Kurapika was all alone during the 5 years before the hunter exam. I actually have no idea how he managed to do that, It  was unimaginable. But I’m glad he made it. I was revived around 3 years after the exam. During those 3 years, he was trying kill the troupe and get all the eyes back, and everytime he did it, He endagered himself to the point that he could lose his live along the way.” He moved his gaze to Kurapika whose head still down, unable to face his precious family and tell the whole truth at the same time.

It was the first time for little Kurapika to hear such things. He couldn’t believe himself, to be survived all alone until the age the chain user now. Moreover, he was the one who caused the whole clan to be killed, including Pairo and his beloved family. Somehow, he felt the pain, those unimaginable pain. Kurapika’s parents weren’t too different, but it was something expected by them, since the last time they talked together, the rat has showed a painful sorrow, and promised them that he’ll make everything better, that he’ll fix everything. That’s obvious, ‘cause nobody fixes unbroken things.

“I...” he started to talked again, trembled. “..tried to coming back to this Village after eight years. This place wasn’t as beautiful as it used to be. I couldn’t recognized all the bones that scattered here and there. But when i tried to come here, to my house, i..”

“I know it was mom. The bracelet that you always wore. The photo of us in your hands, tainted with dried blood. The moment i saw you again, that view was flashed in my mind that i couldn’t help myself to feel all the pain. I’m sorry for that. For being reckless and stubborn too. I felt like i planned everything perfectly but the actual thing is i planned nothing. Elder was right, going to the outside world is a sin. I have to get my punishment for that... so i lost everything in my back, i lost all of you, i lost my home, my clan, for the sake of my dream.” he wiped his tears. 

“Even now, i’m begging you all to listened to me. To at least make me feel ease, lighten up my sin a bit,.. i'm a pathetic, am i?” the blond lifted his face. “With this too, you know why i had to interrupted you in the cave.” he said to his little self. 

“For me.. All of the people didn’t deserved to be killed like that. The fact that elder already remind me if i insisted to go outsides, my family will be the one who punished by my sin..I was so angry, frustrated and...  i feel a deep sense of loss, that i have no one and nowhere to return to.” he keep wiping his tears. “I seek for a power that make me capable for fighting alone, because i really am by myself.. I didn’t want to lose anymore, the person that dear to me. So it there’s a chance to me to protect all of you once again i will. Even if i have to die protecting all the village i will..” he fell knees to the ground, swearing to them. 

“So that i’ll always can see your smile. I can always eat the foods.. I can always have a great adventures with Pairo.” He said i but he actually referring to his little self. “So i never had to feel pain, because i can protect what is dearest to me..”

The blond’s father was waiting for him to come in, as his son was standing still for a few minutes. Pairo had to touch Kurapika’s back before the rat realized that they should be coming in rather than just standing here. Pairo knew that it was important for him to strenghten his friend. Both of them finally coming in, and sit in the sofa. Right after that, Kurapika told his dad about his purpose of coming here. “Ah, so it’s already the time… okay I’ll get your mom and Kurapika to gather here too.” he said then went to the kitchen and call them.

“Kurapika, Mom, they’re here. Let’s gather in the living room.” He said, a little bit shouting so both of them can hear him at once. Pairo and Kurapika could hear him too. His father came back to the living room with two others. Mom is bringing some snacks for them. “We’re not going to talk about anything without this.” She said and served the snacks for their special guests.

“So, what’s so important that makes you come this time?” Little Kurapika asked curiously. He thought so, since his bigger self was only come to him in important times. Not knowing that his mother even asked the chain user to come home anytime he wants, be it important or not. “He’ll tell us very important things, so make sure you too put your ear right on it’s place.” his father gave the other two about Kurapika’s purpose of coming here.

“It’s been a half year and our mission is coming to an end. We might saying goodbye in three months or so. Before i tell all the people in the village, i want my family to know about it first. The truth that we’ve been hiding from all of you.” He sighed. Talking about their death right in front of their faces was never easy for him.

“I already told Kurapika that i wasn’t from the parallel universe. We were in the same universe as you guys, we just had different times. We are from the future. That’s why i know exactly what will going to happen. Back then in my time, no one actually healed Pairo’s illness so i had to passed the test and went outsides world by myself, looking for a doctor to heal him. I went without knowing how to fight, how is the outsides world was. I left the village, exactly three months from now, without bringing a phone or anything to keep in touch with my family.”

“Six weeks from the day i left, a news about the Kuruta Clan mass murdered was aired to all corners of the world. No one except me were survived from the tragedy, and all  the Scarlet eyes are gouged out and traded.” he gulped. “The culprit was The Phantom Troupe, a world-renowned gang of thieves with Class-A Bounties. They were really strong, but if all the kuruta could mastered the specialist type and fight along, it might be enough to take down of them. That’s why i’m here, to prevent that massacre from happening and save the life of the clan.” he gaze fall to the ground. 

“It wasn’t a nice story to tell in the beginning, that’s why i keep hiding it until now. But i want the clan to prepared their best when the day is come. So that that catastrophe would never happened. So Kurapika and Pairo would still have a beautiful journey that they have been dreaming of, and they still had a place to come back. They still have someone who wait for them and welcoming them whenever they back home.” His voices got deeper, as if he prevent himself from crying.

Both of them finally come into the same vision. It’s all thanks to the blond who shared his thought and not decide everything on this own. It’s like he gained faith to his friend more when Pairo came back to live. They’re going to so many dangerous possibilities, but it’s not like Kurapika would trust his hunter eaxam-friends to endanger themselves together. But now he’s slowly relying on his friend more, to help him and went through  things together.

“What are you talking about? of ‘course we’re to face everything going together.”. He responded agreely. They never really debating too much since they respected each other. Even if Kurapika went through reckless act, Pairo was never there to blame him to much. Yet, he encouraged him by giving him another perspective. There were also time when Kurapika did the same to Pairo. “With that being said, shall we go now?” he asked the blond, and without wasting anymore time, they went to Kurapika’s house first.

They walked together to Kurapika’s house. It’s actually the first time after months, that he walked to Kurapika’s house. Somehow it feels nostalgic to him, and it’s remind him how often he used to play there. Both of them arrives, and knocks the door. It was the blond’s father who opens the door for them. “Ah, it’s both of you. Please come in.” he said, gently smiling to them.

A smile painted in his face when Pairo accepted his request freely. The sun is about to say good bye when they went to his house. Since the first time he came, he never once visited them in his house. He did that because he want to keep himself focused on the missions. A place that hold so much memories that he can’t hold anymore, might be weaken his purpose to train the whole clan. But the time when they arrived at the house, everything was hit him to the core. How much he missing it, how he wants to be there for the rest of his live, a place to come after all, a place that welcoming him like his father did. 

When the door is opened, he could see every corner of the room. The corner he used to study, the dining table where he always eat the best food from the world, the bed where he dreams all the happiest journey with Pairo, the warming lamp and a family. 

“......” he was mesmerized for a moment, standing in front of the door for a minutes or two. A half of himself regrets why he didn’t coming home often but his other self tried to understand that he got to focus with the other thing. He clenched his fist and started to walk in. 

They both sit on the sofa, as his dad let him to. “Actually, it’s about the time.. to tell the truth why i came here and trained all the local. I’m gonna tell this too at the field tomorrow, but i think my family should be the one to know first. So, in order to that, i need mom and kurapika as well to hear what i’m going to say.” he started.

He was paying attention Ton for a minutes. His thought wondering what kind of fruit did Ton likes from this era. He couldn’t find a single clue, and he already tried to give him some  of this forest’s fruit but there’s no pregress. He then got distracted by the blond who called his name. He moved his gaze to Kurapika to figure out what he’s gonna say.

Turned out that the rat asked for his opinion about whether it’s time to tell them the truth or not, with a certain reason. Pairo was unable to answer that immediately. He have to think about it for a while before making a decicion. It’s indeed going closer to the day when the troupe attacked the village. But whatever they choose, they have to decrease the risk as minimum as possible.

“…..I can’t really tell is it a good  move or not. But yes or no, both of the option have their own risk. If we tell them later, they’ll probably shocked and going to be panicked. And it’ll make us making plan in a hurry, which commonly would lead us into mistakes.That would be bad.”

“If we tell them around this week, it’ll give us more time to arrange a plan, as you already know their abilities. But the risks is, people will started to overthink about us, like how those kids reacted to our arrival. Or maybe they started to think of what else did we hide from them….” he thinking out loud., then went silent after that.

“I think I choose to tell them now. Even if I make too much assumption about it, it’s still the most safe move, rather than the other one.” he said, finally made his decicion.

Even if all the Kuruta has the qualified ability to fight, but he can’t make sure anything about the spiders. Half of his minds is still traumatic about the massacre, and the other half is pretty sure that they can defeated the troupe. Or at least, he can make a deal or something. What just Pairo said is actually right. There’s still times to prepared everything, so tell them sooner about the truth is a better choice. “Fine then,” he said, feeling pleased by his answer. They have the same thought, but Kurapika just want to make it sure he didn’t think everything by himself. 

“I’m going to my home to talk about this with them first. Elder knew the truth, so we could talk to him later if we want to gather everyone in the field.”

“And also... because i promised my Mom that i would tell her if the time is right, she’ll be the first to know the truth before anyone else.” He stand up from his chair. “You can also tell your parents, Pairo. But....If you would come with me, i’ll come with you too.” He said that, but actually he just need his company to that matter. To explain something that never stop to haunt him in his dreams, right in front of his parents. 

For a matured-individual person like him, asking for accompany was actually embarrassing. But he really want to go with his one and only partner, in the happiest moment and the saddest moment. Pairo was the only one who shared his dreams, the only one he would like to count on.
