Virginia's route is getting really interesting. However I'm thinking that now that George is gone, there might be some drama after that because Mercy/Vople killed him, but her route will eventually flatten again. The conflict with her is mostly external, meaning if the plot stops, it can revert back to unseasoned friends to lovers. Langley tends to "sweeten" her lis to the point of making them boring. I'm saying this as someone who likes Green flags and sweet lis, but she also doesn't find ways to make them more interesting or complicated. I don't care about reading a scene where the li is described as "soft" three times in two panels. I'm thinking that's more due to her own preference, since we've seen she can write lis/characters that are more complex (Alexandre, even Henrietta). The poor woman who's a victim of the circumstances is so overdone by now and imo not that well executed either.

Imo she doesn't utilise the full potential of her lis. Like the drama with Virginia can make her change as a character and start having more conflicts, both with herself and with Mercy. I also agree about the takes on Frank. I like his personality and don't find him boring because of that, but he could be doing so much more in that police position. This is a mafia story and you can have some really high stakes in it. Langley needs to get more out of her comfort zone.

I really hope there's a new plot arc coming, regarding Amelia and Tiffany's "coven", and Xavier and Emma get added into that. So that Tiffany, Xavier and Emma become more active in the storyline, because so far they're pretty sidelined. The only good routes are Declan, Fabian and Luna. Tiffany shows up once per update for that one diamond scene of "You want me"- "No I'm disgusted by you" which is getting repetitive. I know she has to be a slower burn due to the archetype, but you can do a slow burn and mean girl and have her be more involved/give more variety to their interactions. Like Poppy from Choices. Declan is a slow burn too and he is everywhere in the plot, plus gets like 5 diamond scenes every update. If you can't write a more balanced cast, it's better to have fewer lis.

Emma and Xavier feel like they barely exist (and please fix that weird brow raise of Xavier, he looks really uncanny), and the fact that you also have to go through cheating to be in their route can be off putting. Plus sideline them even more by default. We barely know anything about their family and backgrounds too, besides their relationship with each other. At least with Xavier we know he used to be a football/soccer player, but Emma is non existent. Maybe their arcs will be further down the line and Klara has planned something, but I highly doubt there will be updates that focus on their development instead of giving a handful of scenes to the more popular lis too. If you start with all of these disadvantages, it's harder to catch up after. The episodes are pretty short and can afford to add interactions with more of the characters. Averris episodes are still pretty long even with the new format, so that's not the issue.

Saw someone posting the number of views for this update, and then I found the numbers for May's update too (this one's in Russian but the order here is HS3, Waterlily, Averris, TTS, Soulless, SOS 2, SCN, AN3, ABH, KFS).

HS3 is seemingly doing the best, but if you divide these views by the number of chapters, it's actually quite bad.

Going by views per episode:

1.TTS (2 episodes)= 218k

2.KFS(2 ep)= 154k

3.SCN(3 ep)= 149k

4.Waterlily (4 ep)= 144k (+22k per episode from May update)

5.SOS2 (4 ep)= 124k (+34k per episode)

6.ATR (4ep)= 117k (+10k per episode)

7.HS3(9 ep)= 102k (-12k per episode, it had 6 episodes in the previous update and you can see how the total number of views was quite lower)

I'd personally also add that despite Waterlily getting less views per episode here, I think since their views are pretty close, it's still in a more favourable position than KFS and SCN. Because these stories are much older and have a bigger number of episodes out too. Don't know how TTS would factor in that, but the difference is bigger between them, so I think it is the winner here. I didn't add the gains/loses compared to the May update for KFS, TTS and SCN because I don't know their number of episodes for that update. Overall viewership compared to other years is down too.

I don’t know how does that work but the stories should have shorter episodes but more of them that’s their thing now right? but Averris for me is 40 minutes play, Waterlily and SOS2 is like 25-30 minutes and Sins is like 15 minutes lol. So how does that works? I prefer ofc the longer episodes i don’t like the 15 minutes one it’s giving me 7brother flashbacks and Langley I see likes to write 5 seconds episodes.

It gives lazy writing. If ATR can have longer episodes with this format, then the rest of the authors have just found a way to work less and get paid the same. I personally didn't find the more episodes per season a deal breaker on its own, but the shorter episodes feel like a waste of my time now. Because just when I'm about to get immersed, I'm already on episode 4 and the update is over. From the books that I'm reading, that was especially prominent for me with Waterlily. Makes me want to wait 3-4 updates to read the story (well actually I will, both for this and for stories that don't get regular updates, like WLBE or CB), so I can have some actual progress.

This post pretty much sums up what happened. Even HSR fandom is pretty toxic by HS standard, while ABH is the most peaceful. I know this from a reddit moot who also happens to be active in the RU community. 🥴

So basically they're just mad Cain doesn't get as much screentime as he used to in HSR. Too bad for them, they didn't gaf when the same thing was happening to Greg and Anna 🥱

And Lane's stats not making any difference like they did in HSR, which honestly I don't even think it's Sasha's fault...Both Lane and Audrey have been forced in the HS format in which the stats were always useless. They have also been used as props to built Vicky's arc, yet Vicky is still the weakest MC. Alice does the bare minimum, the HS episodes and romance is the shortest of them all.

Mimi so sausage fested that even the ones who have paired her with Dino are now complaining she's flirting with Abel while feeling sad over Dino 😭 Alice's case needs to be studied. Like sorry I know writing should be different than the writer, but at this point I can't help but wonder what's her obsession with Mimi and men. That's the fourth man she can be pushed into, while the whole HSU has 3 flis in total.
