My heart just lurched.
The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology has dealt a devastating blow to the notion that men and women are fundamentally different when it comes to how they think and act.
“Although gender differences on average are not under dispute, the idea of consistently and inflexibly gender-typed individuals is,” Bobbi J. Carothers of Washington University in St. Louis and Harry T. Reis of the University of Rochester explained in their study. “That is, there are not two distinct genders, but instead there are linear gradations of variables associated with sex, such as masculinity or intimacy, all of which are continuous.”
Analyzing 122 different characteristics from 13,301 individuals in 13 studies, the researchers concluded that differences between men and women were best seen as dimensional rather than categorical. In other words, the differences between men and women should be viewed as a matter of degree rather than a sign of consistent differences between two distinct groups.
You mean human beings, like everything else, living and mineral, in nature exist on a series of both parallel and intersecting spectrums, and there is no such thing as a definitive binary or black/white divide? MRAs, RadFems, and EvoPsych people everyone will be horrified to find this out.
“Some problems we share as women, some we do not. You [white women] fear your children will grow up to join the patriarchy and testify against you; we fear our children will be dragged from a car and shot down in the street, and you will turn your backs on the reasons they are dying.”

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine if the messages and images African American women are exposed to affect their interracial dating patterns.
Procedures: If you agree to be in the study, you will be asked to complete an online survey that will take 5-15 minutes. You will be asked questions on stereotypes of African American women and how much you agree with them. You will be asked questions about your experiences dating outside your race. You will also be asked some demographic information about your age, ethnic identity, education level, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
In this post, the white mother of a biracial 5-year-old was surprised to hear her daughter say that black barbie was “less important.”
Worth remembering that not all children grow up with an inherent sense of self-worth that is continually reinforced by…

The purpose of this study is to understand how African American women perceive stereotypical images and roles of African American women, and how the stereotypes and perceptions of images influence identity, psychological functioning, and intimate relationships. If you agree to be in the study, you will be asked to participate in the one-time completion of a series of questions/surveys online and a demographic form. Surveys will ask about your attitudes regarding stereotypical roles self-esteem, and intimate heterosexual same-race relationships. The study will take 15-20 minutes to complete.
See the problem here?
Coming soon..
Los Angeles students protesting neglect of poorer schools took to the streets, and brought their desks with them.
Some 375 empty desks blocked a downtown street, blocking traffic for several hours Tuesday outside the Los Angeles Unified School District offices.
Organizers say the number represents the count of students who drop out of district schools each week.
Protesters want a student voice on the school board, and more funding for English language learners, foster children and low income students.
District officials declined comment on the protest.
