  –  Alexa did hear the knock, but was quite confused. She didn’t expect anyone today. Why would she be hearing a knock anyways? She slowly walked down the stairs hoping who ever was outside her door would leave. It didn’t help when she heard the squeaking of the door.

  –  ‘I knew I should have fixed that’ door when I had the change she thought to herself. There were recent break ins around the cities, Alexa could only hope her house was not the latest victim of the crimes. 

  –  “Hello?” she heard a man call out. Finally she could see him after walking down the hall. He didn’t look like a burglar. But he was intimidating, not too much taller then herself. But the aura he was giving off was dark and brooding. 

  –  The man was about to leave when Alexa spoke up. “Hello?” She called back still having her guard up. “C-Can I help you?” She asked sucking in a breath. Who knows this may be something very important. He didn’t seem like the type to waltz into someones house.

Nikolai was quite unsociable. Almost like he spent his entire days indoors, without a care in the world. Oh wait- that was him. But that didn’t matter now! Or maybe it did. Either way, he would end up talking to the peculiar girl anyways.

He swiftly pulled out a paper from his pants’ pocket, handing it to the girl. He was relieved that he had kept his gloves on. If there was contact he was bound to die of fright. 

“… I am looking for a certain Mister… “ he trailed off, as the name was on the card. Perhaps he was at the wrong house, or even worse, the person had moved. If those were probabilities, than he had just gotten himself deep in trouble.

“Obviously if he’s not here I can go-” Nikolai said a bit too quickly, a hand outstretched for his coat. Yes, he needed to go soon. He was planning to leave today actually, and he didn’t want to miss his flight. All he was here for was business practicalities. Nothing special.

  --  Alexa looked at the paper. It was signed by a ‘Matthew Williams’ she couldn’t help but smile to herself. The man we quite flustered her guessing because she didn’t really look like who he was looking for. When the man said he was going to leave she couldn’t help but call out a ‘wait’.

  --  “Matthew” is actually a relative of mine. May I ask if it is ok... what sort of business you have with him?” She didn’t know if the man was talking about her Matthew specifically so didn’t want to call him by his nation name. “If you don’t mind answering of course.”

  --  Alexa wasn’t used to seeing too many nations outside of Canada and his brother, The United Sates of America. Her ‘uncle’ was keen on telling her gossips and his stereotypes for each nation. She looked over the man trying to judge which nation he reminded her of from her uncle’s stories.

Nikolai groaned. How much longer would he have to wait for someone to come and open the door for him? It wasn’t that hard- really. All you had to do was turn the doorknob, and then you’d be done. He swore under his breath. He didn’t have time for this. 

He was about to throw his umbrella onto the wet grass when suddenly the door opened. He looked embarrassed for a moment, like he’d been caught doing something immature. “Thank you.” he murmured to no one in particular, putting away his umbrella and walking in. The room was much warmer, so he took off his thick jacket, and set on the coat rack near the entrance. 

“Hello…?” He called out, peering behind a stack of papers and books on a desk oddly placed in the room. No answer. At least he was alone. He slid away to the entrance when he heard a small voice answer him.

Nikolai shuddered, beginning to feel flustered for trying to leave so early. How rude he had been. “I-I’m sorry.” He enunciated, putting his coat back on the rack, before the person could see him. He felt awkward as he was placed in the middle of the room.
