Day of SCervice Memories from 2015! Looking forward to 2016!
We’ve been looking back and remembering the amazing parts of 2015 with the Society of Trojan Women. One of our favorite memories involved the Trojan Family and amazing volunteer opportunities. The 2015 Day of SCervice on 3/14/15 we hosted two sites for Trojans to volunteer and give back to the community. We were at St.Vincent Meals on Wheels and at the Downtown Women’s Center.
This spring, we’ll be hosting 3 sites! Stay tuned for more details, or visit http://dayofscervice.usc.edu/ for more information about Day of SCervice and volunteer sites all over the world - 3/12/16! Be sure and register to volunteer and give back to the community!

The scholarship process is one of the wonderful ways the Society of Trojan Women gives back to USC!
We have our incredible 2014-15 Scholarship Chair, Adrienne Francis, to thank this year for heading up the scholarship application through award process. Adrienne handled all of the scholarship application processing for the reviews, scheduling of the interviews, room reservations, and overall coordination with the students. What an amazing job!
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who were involved with this important scholarship process. We are proud to give back to the University through this tradition of scholarship!

It really is inspiring to read about what amazing things the students are accomplishing. It’s also nice to feel more connected to what’s happening on campus. There are many new clubs, programs, and majors; the university has really evolved and done amazing things since I graduated.

News & Update: from STW & TGJAOC
Dear Trojan Women: We are thrilled to announce the merger of two great alumnae groups: the Society of Trojan Women (STW) and the Town and Gown Junior Auxiliary of Orange County (TGJAOC). This is a continuation of the “junior” alumnae groups joining forces to engage more Trojan women with valuable programming and opportunities to connect. If you recall, STW was formed in 2013 by combining two Los Angeles legacy women’s groups – Trojan Junior Auxiliary of Los Angeles and Town and Gown Junior Auxiliary of Los Angeles. The most recent merger of STW and TGJAOC is an important and exciting step in growing our community of modern Trojan women, lifelong and worldwide.
About the Society of Trojan Women STW provides a new non-membership, programming-centric paradigm for modern, busy Trojan women to engage with the University and each other. As leaders of STW, we are working to build a diverse, multi-generational community of Trojan women who come together to support, empower and connect with each other. Through STW events, we provide interesting and relevant programming, create opportunities to get to know new Trojan women and connect with old friends, and give back to the University through student scholarships and Day of SCervice. STW aims to support you in accomplishing both your professional and personal goals. This past year we have sponsored the following events: Negotiating for Women, Giving Back through Mentoring, Mindfulness for the New Year, Developing Your Voice and Executive Presence, and Taking Charge of Your Financial Destiny. All of our events are open to all Trojan women, so you can come to whichever STW events seem interesting to you. We hope that after attending an STW event, you feel more excited to tackle your life’s ambitions based on spending time with really supportive, encouraging, and fun Trojan women. That is what we hope STW becomes – a place to escape the hassles and pressures of life and to leave feeling more energized and empowered to create the life you want to live. STW’s Future Next year, STW will have 4 to 5 events in both Los Angeles and Orange County. We welcome you to come to all or any of the events that you can fit in your schedule. While we realize that many of us are very busy – establishing or advancing ourselves in our careers, starting families, raising children, pursuing personal goals and fulfillment – and making time for anything else sometimes seems difficult, we hope that you will come be a part of this growing community of energetic, fun and supportive Trojan women in whatever way you can make it work – one event or all of them. A Brief History of STW STW was formed in 2013 by combining two Los Angeles legacy women’s groups – Trojan Junior Auxiliary of Los Angeles (TJALA) and Town and Gown Junior Auxiliary of Los Angeles (TGJALA). Since the mid-1930s, both of these groups had created active communities of Trojan women to engage in fundraising for scholarships while promoting friendship, leadership, professional development and personal enrichment. TJALA and TGJALA were both very successful in raising scholarship money and awarding scholarships to students for many decades. STW is extremely grateful to all past members of these organizations because their fundraising efforts have enabled STW to start a $100k scholarship endowment this year. TGJAOC was established in 1969 as a support group of alumnae and friends of the University. The main mission of this group for many years was to raise funds for scholarship given to USC undergraduate students from Orange County who demonstrate both academic and community service excellence. Through the years, TGJAOC has been extraordinarily successful in fundraising, providing over $525k in scholarships in the last 45 years. Additionally, TGJAOC will establish its own endowment from its legacy fundraising efforts within STW that will be earmarked solely to support the scholarship of USC students from Orange County.

Mimosa Brunch
Take a Break – Using Career Breaks and Transitions to Create the Life that You Want
June 6, 2015 9:30am-12:30pm Newport Landing Restaurant 503 Edgewater Place, Newport Beach
On Saturday June 6th, we will host our first combined event – a mimosa brunch in Newport Beach. This event will focus on the mental health benefits of taking career breaks, how to appropriately exit and re-enter the job market, and how to be prepared financially for them.
Breaks from focusing on our careers are essential to ensure that we are living a full life, and provide incredible opportunities for self-reflection and development. We will also have facilitated networking activities to support and connect all Trojan women in attendance.
