Ok. Feeling a little less icky so I will attempt to dive into my meet and greet story from Nashville on August 8th. 💜
I was 5th in line. And the other couples before me seemed to get out of there so fast so I wasn’t sure I would be able to say what I wanted to say, to John.
I get guided up to the spot after the couple before me and can see John,
right there, all smiley and talking to the 2 girls before me. They take their photos and then they walk away. John then looks up and the security guy says I can go.
John notices me and then smiles, hey, hello! How are you and what’s your name? I introduce myself and already I feel like I am like floating
above myself looking down at myself talking to John Mayer. Just crazy! This is something I have thought about numerous times, but never thought would have the opportunity to do.
I then immediately start conversation so there isn’t a chance for them to hurry with the photo and then I am done. Here it goes.
“So John, you like to interpret dreams, would ya help me figure out what this dream I had, with you in it actually, for me and figure out what is means?
John: "Sure. Yes. Ok. What’s the dream.”
And mind you, his face is right in my face since I am short he had to hunch down a bit.
“Ok. So, I am in the produce department at the grocery store.”
John: “Alright. Grocery store. Produce section. Common place. Ok. Go on.
"So, I am by the bananas. And I then hear this voice behind me say, "Man! Those are some nice looking bananas. And I never turn around to the guy sayin this in my dream. "Yeah. They are. But too bad I can’t eat em. Bananas give me the worst stomachaches.”
John: ok. For real. Do bananas give you stomachaches?
“Yes! They do! Since about 14, I just can’t eat a banana without it eating up my stomach.”
John loves to ask questions. 🤓
“Back to the dream. So then the guy behind, says "Yeah. Me too! Bananas give me such horrendous farts.” And then I turn around, and its you. And I wake up and I am like what they hell does that mean??
John jumps right in and says, “Ok so. When did you have this dream?”
“About a year ago. Cause I posted it on Facebook right away and it came up recently on my On This Day moments and stuff.”
John says: “It’s really weird you say a year ago, cause a few years ago I was having issues with some foods and some fruits, and decided to do some allergy testing (I can’t remember the exact name of the medical institute he mentioned, cause ya know,
I was freaking out inside because I actually told John this weirdo dream). Back to John: "So, they run all these tests of different vegetables and fruits, and I only had 1, yes 1, food that kept coming back that I was allergic to.”
“No. You aren’t going to say it.”
“Yes. Bananas. I am allergic to bananas. I really don’t eat them. But yes. The only fruit on the list was bananas.”
“Are you bullshittin’ me?!”
John: “No lie. I am dead serious. I am allergic to bananas. If takes a pretty large amount to cause problems, but I really don’t eat enough to notice. But yes. I am allergic to bananas.”
This whole time I feel like I am still floating above my body and telling John this dream.
We then take the photo and I asked about a huggy photo and he said yes. We can do a huggy photo. 🙌🏻
After I showed him the birdie tattoo, and he thought it was the cutest. And the Keith Urban lyric one below it and he’s like, Keith is the man, and I said quickly like yeah, you should call him and jam tonight and John laughed. Then as I was about to go, I mentioned I left a letter up front for him to read later. He said thank you and smiled. I then was walking away and John yells out, “I will see you in your dreams!”
I said, something like oh boy and laughed. And then walked down the line of people, about to cry.
I can’t believe this all happened. But I guess that’s what a photo is there for. To remind you of that moment in time, and to take you back when all was pretty alright in the world. Even for a few minutes.
And even if John isn’t really allergic to bananas, doesn’t matter. I am thankful for his genuine interest in talking to me and wanting to make some sort of connection and memory.
John has my heart. That is one thing I know. 💙💜💙
