“wow, tea!!” aly exclaimed as if it were the first time she heard of it, happily walking over to him, giving the boy a quick peck before taking the gifts. “that’s such a lovely thing. my handsome husband. now the room will smell wonderful, dear.” she chuckled.

he laughed contently as he kissed her back. “i do believe our lovely room shall smell almost as beautiful as you.” he smiled with great pride. “how’s your day been?” he asked, moving to sit on their bed, his eyes locked lovingly on her.

“hello my beautiful wife!” he exclaimed walking into their now shared living space, “i’ve brought flowers, and chocolates, and tea!” he bound into the room, all things mentioned in tow. // @alycew

“no i mean, she’s close to 18, but regardless, even at that age, we’re too young, or so would grandpa say.” taran took a second to reason what arthur told him, a brow of his perking up the more he thought of how simple and lovely his own story sounded, but feared that nothing organic could ever even come up with aria, let alone mabel. “you guys just went for it, i see.”

“god bless grandpa’s memory, but i truly must say, if you know that it’s the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with, why wait?” arthur couldn’t understand how it could be complicated. it truly didn’t make sense to him. “but of course we did. it was just our fate to be together. i say, whether it is aria or mable, whichever girl is lucky to have you taran, you’re truly wonderful.”

“ha, i wish,” he said ambiguously, drinking some more of his beer. “but if she says no, what comes after? do i keep asking? do i let it all end there? it would be too much. not to think of what she would say about it.” he sighed, though smiling at art’s grin. “how did you ask aly?”

“well if she’s not 18 you can’t really get married. so i feel like it might just be better to wait at that point.” he finished off his round. “if she doesn’t want to get married then she isn’t the one for you i guess.” he shrugged. “well, we were talking, and i remembered around my neck was the ring from my mother so i pulled it off and asked if she wanted to spend forever with me. very simple.”

taran swung his beer bottle, almost as if he were celebrating his bachelor party that night. “right, right, you know that for a fact.” he chuckled. “well because –– because she is still young. she is not even out of school yet. i don’t want to pressure her into anything. besides, we’ve been so distanced now..”

“i mean, is she 18?” he asked, laughing, sipping his drink, observing the boy. “i mean, all you have to do is ask? she can say no, i don’t believe that counts as pressure?” he smiled widely, looking down at the ring on his finger. “you should get married mate.”

“i’ve been thinking about it all day, in fact all week, no-no, no. actually it’s been like a month, and i can’t find a single thing that says no, you shouldn’t ask her. i’m just,” he sighed happily. “i’m in love with her.”

“why not just ask? it’s rather a simple process getting married.” he took a small sip of his own drink with a smile. “finding love is such a magical experience and you don’t want to let it ever get away.”
