sorry for being so absentee y’all :( i know it’s annoying so i apologize, school is just kicking my keester right now, unfortunately, so- here’s a WIP WEDNESDAY sneak peek of the next How Sweet It Is chapter!! i felt like it was time for some Jasmine/Camden fluffy backstory 💓

“You know,” Jasmine started, eager to get to chattering once seeing Camden slide her phone into the back pocket of her jeans, having been glued to the device all morning. “Maybe you could just surgically implant that thing into your palm at this point.”

Lady’s had been quiet that early Thursday morning, a few regulars waltzed through to pickup their regulars of scones, croissants, and bagels. The air was occupied with warming aromas of citrus and sugar traveling throughout the shop, fresh pastry dough being rolled out across the countertops for a fresh batch of biscuits.

“Sorry,” Camden apologized bashfully, wiping her hands against her ruffled pink apron. “Back to the baking, I promise.”

In the days since encountering the eternally endearing southerner next door, the Brit had become endlessly addicted to her cellphone. The pair of women had been texting one another nonstop since running into one another at Shuga’s, with Bosco claiming to be quite the prideful matchmaker. Camden had woken up every morning to some type of sweet message, and the interactions she’d been sharing with Angeria had slowly started patching the sour hole in her heart.

“It’s really sweet to see you like this Cam,” the blonde spoke earnestly as she flattened out the raw pastry with palms. “I haven’t seen you so smitten in ages.”

Jasmine had started working at the shop several months back, after ringing up a purchase of Camden’s in a local book store several blocks over. The Brit had been immediately taken by the blonde’s bubbliness and sweet demeanor, so after a few weeks of friendly messaging, and discovering Jasmine had been on a job hunt, offering her a position at the bakery seemed like destiny.
