    Her demand wasn’t to be taken seriously, she herself already dismissing and forgetting about it.  After taking a sip of her drink and doing her best to ignore the scalding pain on her tongue, Kimiko turned and gave the boy her full undivided attention.

    “ Let’s start off simple; how’s your day been treating you? ”

“Fine, next one is on me.”

He was completely serious, honestly he wanted to recommend them meeting up often but he wasn’t sure how she would take it. He blew on his drink for a second.

“Well... I actually didn’t have rehearsal or practice today so I got to sleep in until six.” This should not have been as big a deal as it was for him, he took a slow sip trying his best not to burn his tongue.

    She wasn’t sure how to respond to that.  She choked, unintentionally creating a prolonged silence as she rushed herself to think of something.

    “ … Sorry, I didn’t mean to turn this into a self-pity party. ”  If only she had formulated her words better; it sounded too harsh.  There is truth in jest, and even if his comment was executed as a joke, she didn’t feel it appropriate to continue on.  Self-deprecation in a joking manner is still self-deprecation, after all.  “ Excuse me – nothing is a lost cause. ”

“Uh no no, you’re right sorry.” He said, his hand resting on the back of his head as his fingers started to toy with his hair nervously. “Nothing is a lost cause, somethings are just harder for other people. ... Maybe we could help each other out though.”

He didn’t get it... But her inability to tell the joke without laughing was enough for him to start laughing before she even got the punch line out. “Your mom told you that?” He asked still chuckling.

                              WHETHER IT’S HIS tone, or just the general uncaring attitude that encompasses his tone as he speaks, something about his words manage to still every fiber and cell in her body, if only for just that one second. words don’t form the first time she attempts to speak, lips pursing out uncertainly, unsure of what to say. “… more times than you’d think from someone like me. what exactly is on your mind?” always straight to the point and upfront; that’s her idea of a good approach.

He almost wanted to stop talking about himself and ask about the times that she’d felt this way. That’s how he always dealt with his problems though, ignore them and focus on other people. He’d been told that wasn’t healthy though so... might as well just talk this time. “I graduate this year. But really there’s no point. It’s not like I’m going to do anything after school.”

                              SHE IMMEDIATELY SNEERS ever so slightly, turning her small nose up in the air away from his eyes, and it takes her a full blown minute to really digest the kid’s words; she has a knack for jumping to conclusions and becoming venomous and though her instincts are all but screaming her to get up and leave now that she isn’t alone, she reluctantly admit that he has a point. not that she’s exactly ecstatic to admit such a thing, but even she can agree that the weather is indeed lovely. “hmmph. well, I suppose you’re right about that,” she murmurs the words more to herself than to him, but she narrows her eyes at his question immediately. “what I, an ADULT does is none of your business; but.. touche,” she nods her head in truce, already fumbling in her purse for a new can and unwraps a piece of caramel candy. “technically I should, but.. you know.”

Why was she so sour toward everything? He had to wonder this to himself as he watched her search for a new can of beer. So early in the day it seemed like something horrible must have happened to make her so bitter toward everything. It wasn’t his place to assume that, after all she was older and maybe she had a good reason. “So you like to play hookie too then. You should probably eat something with those though.” He said motioning to the beer, not being able to stop himself from commenting.

i want more m/f platonic ships. like i want my muse to come running into your muse’s arms when they’ve had a fight with their s/o, and instead of using this to get into their pants, your muse simply comforts them and reminds them why they’re with their s/o. or my muse just broke up with their s/o, and instead of using your muse as a rebound, they steal some sweatpants and spend the next week eating popcorn in their couch in the comfort of the other. or headcanons of our muses first meeting, how they may have initially tried to spark a romantic relationship but realized the friendship dynamic worked so much better. platonic fights bc those hurt so much more than romantic fights sometimes, and showing up to each other’s houses in surrender when they realize they miss each other too much. having really dumb inside jokes, and her calling him to come back to the office to walk her out because she’s afraid to even go to the parking lot at night alone and he doesn’t even question it. or lunches to discuss each other’s lives even though they already know most everything going on in it. late night cuddles that mean nothing more than the comfort of closeness. deep talks. adventures. coffee making. i just want supportive and fluffy m/f ships that don’t focus solely on romance. pls.

The hand that was on his back traveled up to his hair. Her small hand brushing through the locks that was meant to be comforting. Anyone in the world liked their hair being played with, so why not do it with Diego. It might calm him down even more. She smiled a little wider and whispered to him softly.

“Seeing you this scared just makes me want to keep you close to me all the time.”

“I umm.... well... I never thought you were the type to like them so much.”

He couldn’t help but nearly melt against Ume as she started playing with his hair. He rested against her his eyes looking just below the tv screen. Honestly he hated every second of this movie, but if this would happen every time he got scared, he could deal with scary movies.

“Well, I did agree to a movie marathon of your choosing.”

“Um, o-okay. Are you sure it’s alright? I don’t want you to get in trouble.” Umeko was nervous, but held his hand tightly. Was he anxious as well? But he was so talented, and everything he made was beautiful.

“I just... It’s fine just come with me.” He said softly as he held her hand and pulled her to the backstage entrance hoping no one saw them. “I hate being back there alone.”

Demyan chuckled, arms folded over his chest, and took in the reaction the other boy showed. He was honestly amused by it, however; it was a nice little quip. Perhaps getting to know him could be an interesting venture…

“I was merely joking, but I can see that you certainly tick the first two boxes,” He grinned, offering his hand.

“Demyan Volkov.”

“Diego Fujikawa.”

He hummed this as he took the other man’s hand, finding it hard to control his smirk.

“I surprisingly know how to take jokes.”

    Her gaze and focus abandoned the piano as she recollected a story she had read about not too long ago.  An arm raises as she spoke, her hand flipping and turning every which way as if the gestures would secure and further explain her anecdote.

    “ It reminds me of this one woman I read about a little while ago.  She’s diagnosed with Dissoc.iative Ide.ntity Di.sorder, and while her personalities add hardships to her everyday life, she said she can’t fathom life without them and never wants to be rid of them.  N-Not to say that you seeing colors is in the same severity level as DI.D!  But … hearing people say things like that is pretty intriguing to me.  ‘Not sure why, though. ”

His head tilted to the side as she told her story, his eyes flicking to watch her hands every now and then as he took in what she said. He wasn’t entirely sure what she was talking about, this was something involving science or... what was she interested in? Psychology? That was a type of science right?

“I’m gonna have to honestly say that I have no clue what you’re talking about... Sorry Kimi, but... do you have anything you can’t imagine being without? I think that everyone has one, they just don’t always know it because to them, it’s still normal you know?”

“I’m a pilot. I fly all types of aircraft. Mostly my jet, Baby, but other than that, I’m skilled at most. I wish I could fly a spaceship though… I’d be able to fly you to the moon, Mr. Sinatra.”

Diego laughed at hi enthusiasm, taking it as a joke. He’d never met someone quite like this man before, someone that was so willing to listen and accepting of him and what he did. He should probably tell him that he’s not nearly as amazing as he’s assuming.

“A pilot?! Whoa, that’s so amazing and you have your own jet. I can only imagine what that’s like, flying through the sky, being able to see the clouds and blue as far as the eye can see.”

He laughed softly at being called Sinatra.

“Trust me, singing is one of the many things I am no good at.”

    In her hands were two cups: an earl grey latte for herself, and the other being Diego’s beverage of choice.  Her treat – she insisted.  When finally returning, the extended her arm out for him to retrieve his drink.

    “ What a nice coincidence it is to see you today! ”

Diego smiled brightly and took his cup, hot chocolate with caramel and extra whipped cream, is sweet tooth made up for the salt he was made of.

“Thank you, it is nice to see you Kimi, but i could have gotten my own drink.”

Simply hearing her accent made him smile and nearly chuckle to himself so he was almost certain that he would love a joke from Amie. “Alright, shoot. I’m curious as to what a mint joke is.” He admitted leaning a little closer to her.

He was bad about staying on a schedule. Diego was supposed to be home an house ago but he desperately wanted to finish the newest section he’d been working on. It wasn’t flowing like it was supposed to and it was driving him insane. He was missing something... or rather everything. He was so stuck in his head he almost didn’t heard the tumble that happened in front of him.

Diego stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. Jesus, this person just fell out of nowhere and he was very obviously not okay. The musician quickly fixed his bag on his shoulder when he heard the weak ‘help’.

“Hold still.” Diego took his scarf off and wrapped it up gently putting it under the boys head. “My name is Diego, please don’t move too much. I’m here to help.”

“I love many types of music, classical happens to be one of them. And don’t worry, it’s better than hearing the sound of the engines for 22 hours straight that make your ears ring… Besides, I’d have everything on repeat if it was your work..”

He hummed sweetly, switching rapidly from an infuriating glare to an absolute heart-struck gaze. ‘You hurt me…’ That’s all he could think at the moment.

He couldn’t help the soft blush that tinted his cheeks as he heard this. Satoshi would play his music on repeat? That was probably the greatest compliment he would ever receive.

“Maybe you’d want to hear it first though. I... I have a demo of a symphony I’m working on if you’d want to hear it sometime...” He said softly before looking over to the blond attempting to hide his blush. “So what do you do? Traveling, engines, it has to be really exciting right?”
