Tumblr doesn't want me to have nice things, so I had to compress these files so much, pretend they're high quality.
Two Blender tests featuring shape key rigs and lighting tests. Leon was finished a few days ago and Michael was finished today, I haven't drawn his Kills self in a while, so it was nice to do the burns again. I also rendered some still images since the gifs were so crunchy.
Outlast 1/Whistleblower Characters as Ghost songs.
WELL- You guys liked my ghost x trials post huh? Well, like i promised i'm doing one for my boys in outlast 1 and Whistleblower. As always, don't expect these to completely match the character. But also, new rule, No duplicates, so any songs i chose for the prime assets, i can't pick for these guys. Alright LETS GO!
Is it cheating that im doing 2 characters at once? Probably yeah but shut up its my post. Anyways, The song itself is using the black death as symbolism for a swift spread of chaos and general mob mentality and i've decided to take it 2 ways for our main characters. For Miles its alot more literal, what with being trapped in a place full of psychos and eventually dying at the hands of Murkoff's hysteria with the walrider. (Ironically dying at the hands of men who should realistically have the better heads on their shoulders.) As for Waylon, having gone through Mount massive and was one to finally expose it, it fits him in the sense of the aftermath of him exposing everything, and having to hide away with his wife and kids.
Another one i can't find gifs for but WHATEVER. Anyways, Per Aspera is about blind, unchecked ambition, forbidden desire, and the realization that human ambition will only lead to damnation. It fits Jeremy to a T because, well, being a Murkoff figurehead literally ended up with his demise at the hands of Miles/Walrider, as well as how much of an ego Jeremy has.
My current song obsession on the best album, IMPERA, Watcher in the sky tells a commentary about people's desperate search for a higher power. The song particually dogs on the concept of the rapture and peoples hysteria over that. It fits Chris especally if you replace the higher power with the walrider and Chris' futile attempts to stop it.
Thank god i didn't give the twins Mummy Dust because its perfect for Trager, He's a man of greed (in all its kinds), this song dunks on capitalism and humanity's obsession with material posessions and in general money. I rlly don't like making his bit so short but again come on its too perfect for words.
Another one i couldn't find a gif of but WHATEVER- Anyways, another painfully easy one, if i couldn't use Circe for Father Martin, I'm GOING to use the song literally singing about the birth of the antichrist/Walrider in this case- ouu now that i'm saying this out loud it sounds like it belongs in Outlast 2...Too bad im way too pussy to play it rn so its going to father martin!
Another absolute bop but it was a little harder to see how it relates back to Billy, BUT i think i got it. So, other than it being the end credits song for Halloween kills, the song talks about an "Empire of the brain of a maniac", and portraying Micheal Myers' relentless stalking as a act of love, now i don't see that applying to Billy, but given how helpless he was at the mercy of the Morphegenic engine, i think for this it's more an act of freedom. As well as that, the song explores nostalgia, or rather the 'empire of childhood', and take Billy's really shitty mum (Who gave him up to mount massive iicr) and the helplessness i mentioned? yeah, it works pretty well if u ask me :3.
Phew! That was a heavy one huh? Don't worry we're bringing it back down with probably the single most obvious song. The song's meaning is pretty obvious, Its a very satirical dunk on the holy communion (Yk the metaphorical eating of Christ's body? that basically.) by turning it into straight up cannibalism. Which, well, have you seen the guy? But looking into it, parts of the song does highlight the biological reality of eating, mocking the idea that swallowing the divine can impart actual spiritual purity, and given how Frank was once a heavy spiritual yoga guy, its just the cherry on top.
On my whole soul i'm not saying this because i love him, but Eddie might be the hardest to think up a song for. And i'll admit DATHOML is a pretty risky choice as on the surface, it sounds like a song that excuses Eddie's actions because of his past which, if it isnt obvious, i'd rather die than even Imply that. So the song talks about, basically, love bombing. Its a charming and very emotional song that lulls you in with its melody while singing about Toxic, distructive and controlling side of love, Parts of it highlight how our deepest obsessions and attachments can blur the lines between comforts and distructions. As very well quoted by someone while researching, "if a Ghost song sounds nice, it's actually very dark in meaning". And if that dosen't explain Eddie and the fanbase he's built (many who have never even touched outlast), then idk what does. And if it doesen't help, this song literally makes me sobina agulera in the club so that should tell u all u know.

Whew! All done! Please give this just as much love as my trials one, i feel as though i gave this way more thought. BUT i'm proud of both.
