Ok im sorry I thought I was done but apparently im not. What people don’t realise or appear to forget, is that everything that happens or is said about them they will find out eventually - especially if they are high profile and media facing. They might get what people say through their own fyp (which we know has happened to Will) or because it has caught the attention of media staff and they felt like the athlete should know what the public commentary is or god forbid family and friends send it to them. Trust me, these guys look in weird corners of the internet sometimes and the guys who are born after 2005 grew up on digital media. I’ve had to have too many convos about blocking out the noise, because it does effect their personal relationships if it gets too loud but a lot of the time they do find the humour in crazy situations. Irrespective of how much things should stay within fandom spaces it will be seen by someone.

hard agree on everything here and i personally think anyone who thinks that will and mack haven’t seen the shipping or aren’t aware of it are naive. wm are probably very aware of it and the extent of it, and if they themselves aren’t keeping up with the fandom, other people in their life most certainly are. let’s be real these guys search their name on tiktok monthly if not weekly

But assuming Will isn't training bc you don't see it posted anywhere, or assuming willmack are not on good terms just bc they're not in the same city -especially assuming these things to the point where you aren't having fun rpfing- isn't good

people take this way too seriously sometimes. the f in rpf stands for FUN and if it’s not fun and you’re constantly getting upset over things the subjects of your rpf do or don’t do, or what other people in your fandom do or don’t do, then it’s time to log off and go outside to enjoy the sun for a while

To the idiots out there, this is for you! And I do apologise, this is not aimed at you but I keep see people be brain dead and I just saw you talking about it. I’ve worked for international professional sport orgs for the 5 years, something that is common is that teammates DO NOT hang out for the majority of the offseason (of course, there are exceptions to the rule, but this is just my professional observations).

These guys spend the majority of the year travelling / no where near home. They sacrifice an unimaginable amount for the love of their sport. The off-season is about resetting, mentally, physically and building back up to the season. Being able to spend time with family is important to a lot of people and spoilers thats what a lot of time off is spent doing. The hockey season when all is wrapped up is 8-9months long, high intensity, I honestly wouldn't want to see anyone I worked with either. Unfortunately, for staff (who are on the road or not), we don't get that option 😭.

Guys will catch up for dinner if they somehow end up in the same city for a bit but most won't see each other until they're back in the rink for camp. WillMack might spend some time together closer to the end of the off season for training but I would imagine it would be for high-intensity training and to create a baseline for the season. Most if not all athletes today are constantly comparing stats from the start of the season when they're fresh and in 'peak' to where they are currently, to optimise performance.

Anyways, I could be completely wrong - I've never worked in hockey but all athletes are similar. Also genuinely who cares? These guys are white males who are close to, if not already, millionaires with salaries and sponsor deals that none of these people knows, like it's not that deep (I say as I just took the time to write that lol).

idk what people’s obsessions with saying people are “dropping hints” they’re dating. cause i’ve seen it with others than just wm (obviously the most prevalent example came from one direction fandom)

like why are they trying to analyze the way people breathe to claim they’re dating😭 i love the internet, but some people need to find happiness in the real world (especially cause they’re just setting themselves up for disappointment. these dudes are not dating)

i personally think that a lot of it boils down to wanting to feel special and like you’re better than everyone else since you see these ”hints” and you understand in a way that most people don’t. it’s about exclusivity and feeling like you’re ”in” on something. and i’m also choosing to be blissfully ignorant and believe that no one above the age of 15 actually truly thinks that will and mack are dropping hints
