Found a chenille yarn while cleaning R's room, and the color match wasn't great but I thought I should try it anyway.

The color actually looks so much better in person. I'm constantly frustrated by purples in digital photos 🤷🏻‍♀️

But! I do love the shape! And the way the "drips" turned out! I used a fabric glue this time for fast hold.

I think I'll keep this one! She's so adorable with hair 🥹 It really changes everything.

I know sculpted hair would look so much more Ditto-like. But I really wanted fiber. I'm just gonna imagine my Ditto is so good at transforming that they can do fibers 😂 She's so soft and fits in with my Animal Crossing dolls better.

(Edit to add since I typed it out in the comments: the base doll is Boxy Girls with face carved off and sanded, legs carved down and Hairdorables Bella Bows Series 1 shoes glued to the stumps, and Wreck It Ralph Yesss doll hands, all painted purple)

so as long as tumblr keeps this, here's the tumblr version of etiquette that was maintained when twitter's quote-retweets affected artist visibility/notes:

for art that someone has added reblog commentary to (or removed the caption from), reblog from the source

otherwise, avoid adding reblog comments to art (as this will affect the artist's notes/visibility)—utilize tags and replies to provide commentary (which artists will absolutely appreciate)

reblog comments are comments added to the body of a post, not the tags and not replies.

This new update is so ridiculous.

One of the things I enjoy so much about running this blog and the other information based blogs I run, is going through my notes activity and reading and sharing all the interesting commentary and additional information and context.

Sharing this commentary really improves the quality of my blog, as I don't know everything about every subject, and while I am a marginalized person in several ways (Trans Woman, Disabled, etc), I'm not in other ways (PoC, Indigenous, Religious, etc); not having access to a lot of these voices to share, just because they didn't share a comment directly on my original post, means this blog will lose a lot of its charm.

Like this update will force this blog to become more and more of a news aggregator, with diminishing commentary and learning. Your voices are very important to me and it really makes me feel sad how this will affect my blogging long term.
