Vanillite?
Vanillite!!!
Another pokemon unfairly reviled during Gen V for its object-based inspiration, Vanillite’s an adorable little ice cream creature. Appropriate for an Ice-type, its body is literally made from ice, simply with a snow covering that gives it the aesthetic of an ice cream cone, so it isn’t TECHNICALLY ice cream. Borne of icicles that don’t want to melt, it’s got a cute bit of flavour to match its cute design.
Without the snow covering, it looks like this! Much less appealing of a design overall, though the contrast of the geometric body with the perfectly smooth, round head is certainly interesting. An Ice-type literally made of pure ice is neat, as the Ice-type generally leans more towards animals with ice powers or that live in icy environments, and this approach is generally more emblematic of the Rock-type. It’s a welcome and creative concept.
With the snow, Vanillite looks great, and its tiny appearance and precious little face really sell its cute aesthetic. Again, it’s baffling that people hated this pokemon so much upon release. I can kinda understand the backlash against the evolutions, since they have a certain goofy vibe that isn’t to everyone’s taste, but Vanillite seems wholly unobjectionable. We’ve even had a couple food-based pokemon since, Alcremie and the Swirlix line, and neither has faced any remotely comparable negative reaction and if anything are quite well-regarded. It’s odd! Even if people are a bit nicer to it lately, Vanillite also hasn’t had anywhere near the turnaround its buddy Trubbish has, which is unfortunate.
Vanillite also has an incredibly pretty shiny, with bright pink ice and more vanilla-y snow. Pink is underused as a snow- and ice-themed colour, so Ice-types that incorporate pink in any capacity are especially welcome. It could’ve been chocolate-flavour for something even more distinctive, of course, but this is far from bad.
Vanillite’s a preciously cute little soul, and whilst it’s not a personal favourite or anything, I find it hard to regard it with anything but fondness. It’s deeply unfortunate it had to experience so much cruelty at the time of its creation :c

hi have this Neapolitan Vanillite. It is a cute Pokémon on its own you guys are just mean
Also if it’s a regional variant or something like oricorio it’s probably a fairy/ice type
I found a grape-flavored friend today in a raid!
ruru and shiny vanillite fusion?
it seems this species of azurill has traded out its buoyant tail in favour of something more…ice cream like. we aren’t quite sure of why this evolutionary trait was passed on
What if shiny Vanillites had a differently-shaped cone?
(It’s a Vanipeti... with a Mani-Pedi)
Heyo!
I’ve decided on a schedule for the Pokéganda accounts- it may be subject to change (depending on personal schedule, school, etc.) but, generally, this is what’s in store:
Vanillite stuff (@vanillite-propaganda) on Tuesdays,
Bounsweet stuff (@bounsweet-propaganda) on Thursdays,
and Castform stuff (@castform-propaganda) on Saturdays!
Amidst some reblogs that i’ve queued up, that’s the scoop for today. Stay cool!
recently I'm playing pokemon shield.
