on the drive to chicago, when i’m about an hour away from the city, i’m greeted by an expansive windmill farm that seems to stretch endlessly into the distance. i drive for half an hour before they cease, entering a different time zone within the confines of this massive pasture. how many acres of land do these behemoths occupy? it’s sublime and frightening at once. all my love and terror is left with them <3
