Yes they are! the main thing i changed for the dr about them is that they only kill people against my morals! (EX; homophobic people, corrupt individuals, etc) i of course i also dont engage in such things, for a multitude of reasons.
personally, other than yk,, the people. its the access to so many things. i have art stores near me that have supplies i can only order online in this reality. like, living in a smaller town and being able to just walk for like.. 10 minutes, buy a sketchbook, IMMEDIATELY bring it home, without having to wait a few days or drive myself somewhere is SO nice.
like i do have a car,, but like. the towns walkable and doesnt take long to get anywhere. why would i use my car if i can just soak up nature 🥹

headcanons - 400 ish words
he absolutely loves helping you preen. he will figure out a way to empty his whole schedule to do it.
on that topic, he is really good at it. he's rescued birds and has occasionally helped them preen. meaning hes done a bunch of research on how to properly do it without harming the bird. in your case, you.
If you didn't have one already, he will buy you the biggest bed ever. specifically a circle bed if you agreed. as he figured being able to spread your wings out when you slpet should help with any stiffness you might have gained from sleeping with them folded up, or just limp off the bed.
he kept some of your feathers you have shed and commissioned an artist to make a peice out of them. putting it into his bunker for whenever you werent around.
he had to convince the artist it wasn't a protected birds feathers.
he has also had a necklace made with/inspired by your feathers. he wears it as much as he can.
when you fall asleep on or near him, you commonly will wake up to him petting your wings.
when thinking of something to gift you he remembered a few birds quite like dust baths. as a surprise he had a sand pit built on one of his properties for you.
he will make you the best seed mixes. from the general quality of the seeds to the specific amount of each seed.
he does a LOT of research on birds. like once he found out you were a harpy and you two got close, the main thing you could see him doing was research. even if you insisted he would be fine without it.
he is very cautious about you. specifically about others finding out you are a harpy. he will do anything tokeep you put of any troublethat would come with people finding they exist.
If you nest he will be honored if anything that belongs to him gets added. let alone you lettinghim into sadi nest. he understands how precious nests can be to birds.
has multiple recordings of any bird like sounds you make. has gotten tempted to put them as an alarm or his ringtone.
basically forces you to get outside time. he consistently makes plans to help you explore and feed into any bird instincts you have.
has questioned if you know any other harpies. and getting a bit saddened if you don't. as many birds and generally harpies, from his research, are generally social creatures.
takes better care of you then you take care of yourself. likely better than he treats himself.
makes sure to remind you about trimming and filing your claws as to avoid ripping or harming anything

he really likes sleeping wiht you in the same bed. he commonly will come up to you when it is hsi bed time and "asks" for you to come to bed with him. both for your health, and you there just helps him sleep better
even after you two married, he finds himself flushing and getting embarrased when you use viljeon for yoru last name.
after a while of being married to you, he found himself getitgn more touchy. before it, he didnt find himself needing touch.
he very quikcly notices wehnever you are off. with him and you living together, he wuickly caught onto what was your norm. with that, if he noticies things of he will ask nd do his best to be aside your during it.
with him havng so mnay animals, you commonly will find yourself waking up to barks, meows, or the occasional exotic animal noise if he was actively nring it to health before he could relase it.
he always apologizes for te aniamls if you can not go back to sleep afterwards
you meet his dad a few times, but he dislikes seeing him, let along seeing him ssee you to. as his dad tends to nitpick things he know youcannot change.
when he started coming back home injured and you helped care for him he got used to it. so, the rare time that he is injured and you arent able to help him, he gets a little butt hurt,.
he surprisingly can cook amazingly. with him being rich and all youw ouldnt expect it, but anything you ask him to cook, he can do it practiallly on the spot.
when hes mad, he needs some time alone to calm himself down. while he would never do anythign to hurt you phsyically or mentally, he fears that he might. so he stays alone or goes out in attempt to calm himself down
if you insist on helping, he will let you, but he will be much quieter and tries to avoid touching you.
its rare you two go on vacation becase of the amount of sittters, or just general help for the animals while he is gone is a sternous process. however when youdo, it is lovely. it is planned out to the T with both of your needs perfectly fit, with a luxierus experience.
in rooms the more rowy animals are not allowed in, it is sort of a cotttege core vive. it is very cozy, warm. and the big light is rarely turned on. AKA there is a LOT of lamps and general light fixtures around the house
on decor, he also collectrs art. if you make art you better trust that he is hanging it up if you let him.
you two have a big gorgoeus garden. whiel your grass is free grow, with native wild flowers and general flowers put around the place. it looks like something in a childrens story
he commonly will do random acts of service for you. such as buying you items you breifly said you wanted, cooking you meals he knows you love, cleaning up for you, anything and everything like that.
he never lets you see his vigilante side. he uses his bunker for that. the only time you might is when you have carnivious animals at the home and he brings already perpared meat back for them.

After quite a bit of talking, you finally got to agree on fulfilling both of your needs. While he hated to admit it, he did like the pain, largely the adrenaline, but regardless, he was sheltered. You two settled on a safe word and some ground rules. Avoid cutting deeper than fascia, mainly.
You sit him on the bed with a few knives next to him, a medkit, and general after-care things, just in case anything goes out of hand. You found yourself sitting atop his legs holding the knife up and analyzing it, carefully testing its sharpness on your pecs, hearing his breath hitch.
"There ya' go. Not bad," you voiced, already prepared for how much pressure is to be used when cutting.
You moved to hold the knife against V's while relishing how his eyes widened, and he stared at the blade. "Can't you handle it happening to yourself, hmm?" you lured out a smirk on your lips. Cutting open his flesh just enough to stain his flesh with blood.
When V didn't reply, you slid the knife down his shoulder. The sound of skin ripping along the blade was deafening. "Shame it's just, so attractive," your voice practically purred, splitting the cut with your fingers looking into his flesh. "No one had seen this side of you, Val," You spoke, smiling, your free hand placed onto his chin.
"You sicken me," v spoke, rolling his eyes, ignoring the fact he felt the flush on his face. The tent in his pants was clear and obvious. Your knee just so happened to press against it.
"mmm, but you don't refuse," you hummed, staring intently at the blood flowing down his deep flesh. Taking the knife, and suddenly picking it up and slicing V's arm open. You let out an adrenaline-filled laugh, biting your lips as you watched the blood flow. His deep voice letting out a groan, one of his hands tightly holding your flesh.
Fingers digging into you as he lets out small whimpers and gasps. The smell of iron filling your nostrils.held the knife up and made a symmetrical cut on the other arm.
"God your lucky I wanted this…" v huffed his head, turning upwards and closing his eyes tightly, letting his hand drop. Breathing loud and heavy. You chuckled lightly, staring at the red coating him.
Within a few moments, you slathered V with cuts, listening to his gorgeous noises as you did so. The pain emphasized as you went on. You pressed your hands against some of the shallower ones, spreading the blood across his dark flesh.
You smiled harshly at the blood on your hands and his flesh. "Alright, I'm donee," you broke the silence of V's noise. You felt him breathing out.
You proceeded to take some water and wet a washcloth, gently lapping up any dried and wet blood, gently kissing his collar bone in an attempt to comfort him, feeling his flesh heat up as one of his arms wrapped across your back, closing his eyes and breathing deeply.
You calmly patched V up, closed up the gaping wounds with some butterfly stiches, and extra pressed put into the whole bandage itself. "You did very well Val." You finished up putting some anti-biotic ointment on the cuts left without some sort of covering.
Val's hand went against his face, his chest heavy. "It was. Fun," he murmured, his voice barely heard. Embarrassment flushing through him. Quickly getting used to the pain that comes with things like this.
