“ Those rumors keep people with a decently working brain from trying anything for me. It’s the idiots who come after me ” The male let out a slight chuckle at his comment. He looked over to her albeit with a slightly confused look. Usually people tend to shy away from him from hearing such things coming from her. Either she was an idiot or very confident in her strength. Eitherway, he considered it a nice change of pace even if he didn’t want to admit it.

At least he had agreed to follow her out of the area, and while it doesn’t ease her mind on the subject of possibly being tracked or found, Ava could at least relax while she turns to continue leading him down the streets.

“ That almost scared me. They could only pull shit like that if they managed to capture me ” The albino let’s out a slight chuckle as the small child explained to him how things worked around here. Either he wasn’t taking her seriously or this boy was just straight up insane. “ So. Where are we going now exactly? Lay low for some time? Quite boring but if you ask me ”

That was the downside to the Strategos, as soon as a flaw in their defense was discovered, the next time Ava was found, they had something ready to counteract it.

Handing a snack, Atieno takes a good look at it before opening it to take a bite. They were always curious about trying local treats and this would be no exception. “Hm, this is pretty solid. What is this exactly?“ They take another bite as they accompanied him shopping.

“Unfortunate. Can’t say I haven’t seen that sort of thing before. Strength being used as a reason to fear and avoid someone is surprisingly common.“

“ You can read right? Says right there on the package what it is. ”

If Atieno were to look, it’d just say that it was a simple chocolate chip cookie. So nothing too special. “ Do you think I’m forcing them to fear me or anything? They fear me because they’re a bunch of idiots with a hive mentality in all honesty. Rumors are a bitch ” The male lets out a loud sign as he walked out of the store with the woman. He seemed to be somewhat fed up with the whole ordeal but it wasn’t exactly something he could do anything about.

“I may grab myself a snack or something. I don’t eat much but.. it’s nice nonetheless. What was the deal with people averting their gaze out there?“ It wasn’t hard to note that kind of unusual behavior and think there was much more than meets the eye with this boy.

“ Here, try this ” The male hands her a snack. It was something local so she most likely hasn’t tried it before. It wasn’t that expensive either. The boy himself grabbed some more groceries and some canned black coffee for himself. “ Their deal? They’re afraid because they’re close minded. They assume because I’m strong I’ll start fighting them or something..”

“ Out of the city? You want to run from some bastards who weren’t even able to put up a fight? ” The male sighs a bit and stops walking, leaning onto his crutch once again as he looked at the girl with a slight look of disbelief in his eyes
