#It's been almost a year and I wanted to point out a bunch of details actually #Stupid but Lance's shirt is inspired by Shawn's shirt in episode 2 of Psych #I think that's right #If not then I'm talking about the Spelling Bee episode #Lance's backpack has a K pin on it for Keith and Keith has an L pin for Lance #Keith gave Lance one of his hair ribbons #Lance patched up Keith's bag #The purple in Keith's hair is to represent his galra genes #The little chairs that they're sitting in are eachother's colors #The furniture is weird af because that's what my school library furniture looks like #It feels like so long and yet so little since I drew this #I'm basing this year's art off this one which is why I'm reblogging it again #and also it's losing all my fav details for the sake of being easier to draw so this is like a goodbye to my little Easter eggs

Do you guys think that when Keith first stepped foot into his dad's old house in Texas, he smelled the house again for the first time in years and cried? That he hadn't known that specific smell in so long, it felt alien to him? Maybe even nauseating?

Do you guys ever wonder if Keith had been entrusted with a house key before his dad died? Did he manage to keep it all those years? Or maybe he had to search for the spare key hidden somewhere Keith didn't remember? What if he had to pick the lock? Or break in? Did he have to break into his own house like a common criminal?

Do you guys ever think about the food that likely passed its expiration date while Keith was away? Or maybe if his dad's friends had cleaned the place out of trash and perishables? Had they ever anticipated Keith coming back? Did they even think Keith would remember his house? His father?

Do you guys ever ponder how Keith treated his father's belongings? Did he leave them untouched? Or did he riffle through them for something, anything that could be a clue about the weird energy that was calling to him? Did he feel uncomfortable going into his father's room? Did he ever keep anything of his father's as a memento? Did he feel uncomfortable with Shiro wearing his father's clothes?

Do you guys maybe ever think about if Keith cleaned his father's grave? Did he ever pay his respects? Or had he ignored the glaring reminder that his father was dead and everything in the house Keith was staying in was borrowed from him?

I think about it. I've been thinking about it a lot these past few weeks.

#I was gonna draw a scene from the fic but none of my sketches were working so I look a break to doodle some lil guys and ended up with this #I loved this fic #Like #I don't think I've felt this much about a fic in a while #I'm sad that it's over even though starting every chapter made my heart hurt #I really appreciated the Veracxa and adashi crumbs #I'm so sorry if there were character descriptions of these two because I ignored them #I didn't put much thought into Bernie's design because I don't like him #But I was really interested in Vivi #Not only because we have essentially the same name #I just thought she'd be really cute #I imagine her looking a lot like Miranda from the Tempest if that makes sense #like she tries to look sweet and naive #she's deceptively cute #And then there's Bernie just kinda being there #he feels like a polo shirt kinda guy #ya know?#where the apple falls #I just really needed to scratch the itch of drawing something from this fic #this fic poured inspiration into my not water tight hands and I had to do something with it because it all dripped out

Someone once mentioned that the yellow stripe on Keith's jacket reminded them of the eye of the lions and i think back to that n made a point to include yellow onto the paladin's design

These are by no means are a diss to the original designs i love them dearly ik how some ppl feel ab redesigns thinking i did it to "better" the design i just draw them to fit my specific aesthetics
