Happy Women's Day!

Here's a small excerpt from my book 'Listen'. This poem 'woman and hen' is one of those pieces that is so important to me, not just as a vegan, but also as a feminist.

Woman and Hen is also where I introduce the term 'Misogynal'.

Misogynal - Hatred or exclusion of, or prejudice against female animals by humans.

This women's day, pledge to treat all our sisters with equality and the same moral consideration, regardless of their species. Don't objectify them, don't enslave them. Don't do to our animal sisters what you would find unacceptable to do to our human sisters. Go vegan and work towards liberating all our sisters. Let us eradicate all forms of misogyny, whether misogynal, transmisogyny, misogynoir, or any other type of senseless hate. Let us bring true equality in our society 🙏

I created a new word for animal rights to talk about the prejudice female animals face because as a feminist, I was sick and tired of our animal sisters being excluded from spaces where they rightfully belong.. just because they don't look like humans.

Hatred or exclusion of, or prejudice against female animals by humans.

You would've noticed how, even in spaces where we talk about NOT exploiting reproductive systems of women, and respecting gender identities beyond sex, we still exclude female animals. Their reproductive rights and bodily autonomy are completely absent, and we need to correct that. We need to recognise that our animal sisters deserve as much consideration as we would demand for ourselves. And that starts with calling out the misogyny they face and changing ourselves by rejecting their objectification aka animal 'products'.

We are one sisterhood, part of the animal kingdom's womanhood & no way in HELL will we let her be enslaved and used. What if I told you dogs aren't really protective of humans? What if I told you their loyalty isn't born from genuine love, but manipulation and isolation from their kind? What if I told you it's fawning, it's people pleasing, it's literally a trauma response of a species that knows they are enslaved, that knows they are safe only IF they please their masters.

And the worst part is that those innocent creatures trust you despite the red flags because how do they know you paid for their mother's rape and bought them like a thing? The worst part is that they mistake self-preservation for love and you betray them everytime you call yourself 'owner', you betray them everytime you treat the animal kingdom as 'property', you betray them everytime you use an animal because you keep their slavery alive.

It’s not actually about agave any more than it is about quinoa, or plastic, or soy. That’s why the people making these posts have never done even a cursory bit of research on the topic. It’s about finding a reason to condemn veganism because it makes people feel guilty about their own choices, while cloaking that condemnation in the language of social or environmental justice.

Haven't opened this account in a long time, but I had to share this news! My book is called 'Animal Voices: Poems'. It's divided into 4 sections called Listen, Question, Condemn and Liberate. The first section 'Listen' is completely from the point of view of animals and the book basically aims to make you listen to the most ignored animals of our society: the chickens, the sheep, the fishes, the lab rats and more.

What everyone on the internet refuses to understand for some reason, is that pleather is vegan in the same way oreos are.

It isn't made for us. We are not the target nor leading consumer. The average nonvegan uses more pleather because it isn't always easy to tell if it's animal or not in the first place. And just like oreos are a cheap and easy product that technically we can consume too, there is actual vegan leather made out of more sustainable products with that goal is mind.

Like all you're doing is literally making posts saying "Pleather (plastic leather) is plastic" and dusting off your hands as if you made the biggest brain post when you quite literally just defined a word and any moral context actually is pointing back at you so idk what you're getting at
