What are tips for fighting temptations?. Under stress/high anxiety or extreme hunger eating meat sounds (sadly) appealing to me. I don't want to give in. Help
There's no shame in that! Sometimes craving meat is your body telling you you're missing out on certain nutrients, so try to then eat something high in iron, protein, etc. See the FAQ for a list I made like three years ago with foods high in important nutrients.Ā
Otherwise, every once in a while you may just be craving junk food (ie. stress eating) and though I should probably advise against this I don't see harm in having something comparable to meat (I think most fake meat stuff is gross but you can make it work, chick'n nuggets with whatever sauce was your favorite on real chicken, a veggie burger but with the cheese and toppings of whatever you used to put on burgers). I find that if I'm craving meat I'm just craving things about meat--I want something warm, or I want something crunchy and fried, or I want something with a certain kind of sauce. And french fries solve all of those problems. And that is an issue I need to face.Ā
